When do you wear your bra? |
Of course out in public... but do you wear yours to bed? Wich personally drives me nuts, especially the underwire styles. Do you wear one even if you are at home all day with no where to go? I don't usually but I would feel embarassed if a neighbor ect would come to the door and I wasn't. A person can only cross their arms across their chest for so long How about you?

1. ElicBxn (15537) | 4 months ago | I don't even know where they are - I haven't worn them full time since the shoulder surgery in 2005, and haven't worn one at all since 2006, I think...

3SnuggleBunnies (3523) | 4 months ago | I suppose if I had shoulder issues and surgery a bra would not be very comfortable or appealing. Atleast you are saving heaps of money on buying new ones.... so expensive for a good fitting one.

2. Sissygrl (5760) | 4 months ago | if its just myself and the kids, i dont tend to get a whole lot of dressed.. or i change but only into more comfy clothes. like from my pj's into loose fitting shirt and shorts. if i get a visitor unexpectedly, and its winter of course.. i toss on a BIG heavy sweater lol. or i'll pick up a kid and hold her lol!
| |
| |
3SnuggleBunnies (3523) | 4 months ago | Same here! That's the best thing about winter and even dropping the kids off a jacket or heavy sweater covers up most everything w/o being obvious.

3. highflyingxangel (9033) | 4 months ago | I do not wear my bra to bed. It bugs me. I do wear my bra if I'm napping usually but I can usually stand an hour or so wearing it. However I don't wear it to bed during the night. I usually don't wear it around the house either. If I've been out all day I do wear it around the house until right before my shower or earlier, it just depends. However, after working 8 hours a day, not too long after I get home, the bra usually comes off.
| |
| |
3SnuggleBunnies (3523) | 4 months ago | I can tolerate it while napping too. Only problem is I don't get to nap as I'd like to & the kids rarely ever nap at the same time.

4. Shar19 (2794) | 4 months ago | Yes I do wear one every time I am out in public. There may have been a few times when I didn't but I had a jacket over top. If I am not going out of the house at all then I may not wear one. Of course if a neighbor comes over then I'll quick run upstairs to put one on because like you said - a person can only cross their arms for so long. I never wear a bra to bed. What's the point? I want to be comfortable.

5. jenlex79 (163) | 4 months ago | I definitly don't wear my bra to bed, that would be very uncomfortable. I do wear my bra around the house though because I heard that not wearing one makes them sag quicker. My bra is comfortable enough at least.

jess368 (1400) | 4 months ago | I think that sagging faster without a bra is an urban myth. Bras just help hold them up once they begin to sag. I wouldnt be uncomfortable all day with a bra based on hearing something like that. Also, if that the only reason you should ask your doctor if that is true, then you can make an informed decision.

jenlex79 (163) | 4 months ago | Wow, I never heard of that. It does sound funny because we are all told that bras are for support, and if it is really the oposite then that is something I need to look into. I know we can't avoid what will happen in time, but its nice to slow the process in the meantime. lol.

jess368 (1400) | 4 months ago | Ladyhope, I am on the same page as you. I didnt respond because I have not asked a doctor, so I figured I wouldnt say her doctor was wrong. I have always assumed a bra would not help reduce sagging, just make it less noticeable when a bra is on. I am sure you could ask this questions to many different doctors and get plenty of different responses. I assume the responses would also be different between a man and female doctor. I dont think there have been any long term studies on this topic, and until that happens, I think responses will be a best guess from that particular person.

6. ladyhope (245) | 4 months ago | The only time I ever wear a bra is if the shirt I am wearing needs one to look good. Otherwise, I won't wear one. I don't care if I am out in public or if I am home. After all, there is no law that says I should! When I do where one, it comes off the second I get home from work, and I would never where one to sleep as it just sounds painfully uncomfortable.

3SnuggleBunnies (3523) | 4 months ago | I think it's just one of those unsaid rules that you have to wear one. Though I'm sure there are a few men who wouldn't object;0)
| |
ladyhope (245) | 4 months ago | Unsaid rule for who? Men who 'Like their women to look good?' lol. Just one more reason not to wear one, in my opinion.
| |
jess368 (1400) | 4 months ago | Some companies have dress code policies that say women have to wear "proper" undergarments.
I dont know that a woman looks "better" with a bra on. we are all natural beings...
| |
ladyhope (245) | 4 months ago | Unfortunately, the majority of people who run these companies who require "proper undergarments" are probably men! lol! I understand telling a woman that her underwear shouldn't show or her bra shouldn't be bright pink if her shirt is white, but telling someone that they HAVE to wear a bra is pretty dumb...
| |
3SnuggleBunnies (3523) | 4 months ago | Speaking of bright pink, a lady came in wearing a bright teal one under a beat up tank top.... I bout died thinking to my self..."you know people can see right thru that shirt right? They do make them in white or nude" But to each their own.

8. katsmeow1213 (4921) | 4 months ago | I put mine on the moment I wake up, and don't take it off until I go to sleep, unless I shower shortly before bed, then I may leave it off from shower time until bed, depending on what I'm doing, if I were gonna be up for awhile longer I'd put it back on. I can't stand to go without my bra, I have a very large chest, and after 5 kids as you can imagine they pull south a little. It sort of drives me nuts. If I go without a bra too long I end up tucking my shirt under them to make it more comfortable.
