I guess it's early to ask something related to Christmas, but I'd like to know when you stopped believing in Santa Claus and how did that came about. As for me, I learned that the "Santa Claus" who's giving me gifts every year were my parents when I was 11 years old. My sister told me who really was putting the gifts under the tree because she found them sneaking the gifts in.

I believed in Santa Claus until the age of seven. It was when I entered into an elementary school which is a catholic school. That's the time when I heard stories that Santa Claus does not exist as shown on television or movies. It is true that Santa Claus is a saint, short for St. Nicholas. Before I learned that Santa Claus does not visit every home to leave a Christmas gifts for kids under the Christmas trees, I always believed that Santa Claus gave me Christmas presents every year. Well, not literally. It was told to me by one of my elementary teachers that Santa Claus gives gifts to kids through our parents.

Wow, you were pretty young when you learned the real identity of Santa Claus. Good thing my teachers didn't spoil the fun for me then. Haha!

can't remember what age but it's the Christmas after I found ants on the candy/sweets in my socks. Because the Christmas eve after that Santa Claus forgot to put the sweets.

Santa knew you had ants in your socks even after Christmas day. LOL! Thanks for sharing your story.

My parents were cruel and never let me believe in Santa Claus. Yup, they told me from Day 1 that THEY gave me my presents and if I was bad they just wouldn't give 'em to me. That means no letters to Santa, no milk and cookies and no believing in reindeer!

And in case you were wondering, yes, I was that child in school who told everyone that Santa wasn't real. Other parents hated me.:P

Wow, that's the first time I heard that kind of story. Normally parents would like their kids to believe in Santa for as long as they want. Well, the parents I know, I guess.

I never really believe in a Santa Claus that comes inside the chimney during Christmas. For one, we don't have a chimney LOL and I live in a tropical place where Christmas is always green and bright, with all the glitters still minus the snow. Oh yes we sing Christmas songs with Santa Claus lyrics in it but we knew then that Santa Claus is just a symbol of Christmas too as what my parents explained.
But we were told that there are Santa Clauses in the cold temperate countries far beyond our reach and the Santa clauses in tropical countries are the parents or who ever are giving out presents.

I honestly don't remember - either that, or I just didn't care. It's just that I always seem to have known that it were my parents who were giving us gifts, and Santa Claus is just a little something extra. Didn't spoil my childhood though; I still love the holidays.

"WHAT" There is no Santa Claus. Who told you that. Just kidding. I am not sure what age I was when I found about it but I just had this very discussion with my 11 and 12 year old son a few weeks ago. We went on a walk around the block and I told them. We started the conversation because some people at there school were telling them that there was not a Santa Claus and I think they were getting cofues and one of them I think argued the fact. Well I stuck out my hand and introduced myself as Santa Claus and my oldest son just stood there for a minute and had this weird look on his face. Of course he then said "oh I knew it" but I dont think he did or wanted to believe it was true from his friends. I then told him and his brother about the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny. They then wanted to know how all those eggs got put in our yard then. Well a good friend comes to the house and hides them while we are at church. They are not supposed to tell my daughter who is only 8 because we still want her to believe in those things. happy

I was 11 too when I discovered that it was my grand dad who's Santa, my older brother and I hid under the couch and waited for Santa all night long so that we can get more toys. We were very disappointed when it was our grand dad! Well, I still believe that St. Nicholas existed!

Well, i came to stop believing arounf 12 years of age.I wished for some cartoons and well my parents could not get it.Later i realised it was my parents who were fooling me throughout all the time, and well then i was getting into rational thinking. But then, i never said a word on this, but i would not make any more XMas wishes and then it all vanished silently. Thanks!

Can't really remember, guess I was about 7 or so ........with an older brother and sister myths tend to get shattered earlier. Sure wish he did exist though as this year things are going to be very tight and this "Santa" is going to struggle to pull it off for kids and grandkids!

I never really believed in Santa Claus, or at least in a way that I remember.

I know that from rather early however I knew there was no Santa Claus since I had clearly seen my father stashing away what would be my presents. I recall that my parents still tried to tell me about Santa Claus, but I suppose they were still expecting me to be awfully naive and ignore those large boxes that had been brought home a pair of weeks before Christmas day.
