For Those Who Think MyLot Shouldn't Be A Place To Rant, Here Are My Thoughts....

What happened to our right of freedom of speech? If you figure the percentage of people releasing their pent up frustrations via rants on my Lot, in opposition to discussions like "What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?" and "Who is your favorite actor on the soaps?" I'll take the rants. Also by being able to vent our frustrations on the Lot, it will save lives. Look at the papers or the news on the net, look at how many murders there are per day, whole families are destroyed by someone who has reached the end of his or her rope and has no way to vent their frustrations and problems. I'd rather see the rants on the lot than the reports of murders!

For those of you who have problems with people posting rants and long winded posts--KISS MY GRITS!!!! If you are so lazy and so obsessed with making quick money by reading short posts fine, just seek them out. Don't pick on the people who like some substance to the posts and discussions. Most of us who do rant and rave also leave substantial responses and enjoy responding to discussions that make us think. We're not the ones who leave short answers like "Yea",
"Good thinking", or "Thank you". Some of us aren't interested in discussions about what we had for dinner, what our dogs name is, what color we like and what we're going to do for the weekend (BTY, I will be doing homework and working on teddy bears for up coming shows.... ) So those of you who get upset and hate our rants, GET THE FRICK OVER IT, WE'RE NOT GOING TO CHANGE!!!! Learn to live with it. I'm still gonna rant and rave, scream and cry and share my feelings and my life.

I am surprised that this discussion hasn't been deleted. I think we should be able to rant if we want.....and you are right. There are times I have gotten much good advice from here....support from loving friends.....and a place to vent when need be.....all the goody two shoes might need this option someday.....good discussion!

Hey - its not FREE!!! They PAY us to rant!!! What else could be better! Friends, advice, and MONEY!!!

I certainly understand ranting here, if I just rant at home, I throw things - well, I still throw things, but at least I'm not throwing them AT any body!

I have found some people can help, give advice, but they sure ain't most shrinks, they just take notes and, if your lucky, give you medicine...

I welcome my friend's rants - I may not always respond, if I have no advice to give, but understand that I do read and sympathize...

I have used Mylot as a place to rant before now, and will continue to do so! Everything that you said about getting more caring and understanding from friends here that you don't sometimes get from 'Real Life' friends resonates with me on a deep level.

Those who don't want to read a discussion that is a rant, well, there's a reason that little red X is in the upper right hand corner - use it!

I think it is perfectly fine for people on mylot to share their feeling whatever they may be. We share happy feelings, why not share when things are not going so well, and we all have those times.

If people don't want to be a part of our rants and raves then
they can go somewhere else, ignore the discussion or as you said
screw themselves! I feel the same way that you do! I consider
this a place that I can come to and vent when I feel the need
to and I know that my real friends here will not judge me or
take offense! Why would they? They feel that this is the place
that they can come to to do the same! We are not hurting anyone
by ranting and raving about something that is bother us so why
should anyone be bothered by it? I know that "our" group of friends
feel secure enough with us not to have to think twice about releasing
their inner most feelings and rant as much as they feel is necessary
and anyone that doesn't feel like listening doesn't have to! We don't
have to aplogize for what we are doing! No one is forcing anyone to
partake! Go away if you don't want to hear what we are saying! No
offense taken! Rant on my Queen!

right, screw them! hahaha this place, mylot is like therapy for me, like right now i am feeling so depress that i turned these feelings into a discussion i just posted and know what? it is helping me, i do not feel suicidal anymore. i am with you in this pye.

oh i have ranted enough in the past pye, i have also has the great support from people in here who have seen me through the worst times, this is a great place to come if we want to let off steam, so if people complain about us ranters, then they don't have to read do they, i agree with you...screw them, if they don't like it...then they have a choice, switch off the puter or don't read...simple as.

i thought that was part of the concept here, we can talk about things that are going on in our lives that are upsetting us, trouble with family kids etc, questions we have but don't know who to ask, funny things that happen in daily life, plus experiences we all have. getting different ideas of people is good for us, finding others who have gone through the same as us.
i like talking about things, it helps. different things you can have a laugh over, with people all over the world. if you don't like a discussion don't respond, that's what i do and if i can't write something useful i don't.
