Does your husband wear his wedding band? |
|
Does your husband always wear his ring, does he rarely put it on or does he not even know where it is?
I thought that him having a wedding band would be something I would have to constantly remind him about but he has really surprised me by remembering to wear it. He can't wear it to work but whenever we go somewhere in the evenings and on weekends he almost always puts it on. I'm really glad that he does because I would hate to have to nag him about it!
Does your man wear his band full time or just part time like mine? Does he remember to put it on?

jesssp (1265) | 3 months ago | That's awesome. I think it's one of those things where if they get in the habit of always wearing it early on then they just always do, it becomes an automatic thing. I know my sisters husband just didn't get into the habit at all and he lost his in about a month!

2. katsmeow1213 (4923) | 3 months ago | He wears his all the time. I can't remember the last time he took it off, probably never. He'll pull it off now and then to show that it has left a tan line, but the only time it's ever fully come off his finger has been when I've played with it. Sometimes I'll try to pull it off him, playfully. He always stops me! He feels naked without it.
I'm pretty much the same way. I've had times where I've taken it off because I was mad at him... stupid of me really! It's been awhile since I've done that. Now the only time it really comes off is when I'm kneading bread or mixing meatloaf or something like that.

jesssp (1265) | 3 months ago | That's cool, that's a great thing for a husband to do IMO. Mine can't wear his to work because it's dangerous, it could get caught in or on something and they work around things that you can't really mess around with so I don't hold that against him. He is really good about putting it on otherwise but it's also a little big so if he's dehydrated or anything like that he can't wear it. It's made of tungsten so it can't be re sized either which kinda sucks.

|
katsmeow1213 (4923) | 3 months ago | That's understandable. I've never heard of tungsten!

jesssp (1265) | 3 months ago | It's quite neat, it's a super strong metal and once it heats up to your body temperature it holds the heat. I don't see how that matters but it's interesting. He just picked it because it's different, it's a dark gray with a rough sort of texture in the middle and then smooth and shiny on the edges and the inside.

5. sacmom (5909) | 3 months ago | No, he doesn't. My husband's hand's tend to swell during the heavy work season so his ring is too tight to wear during those times. But even when it isn't, it just isn't a good idea for him to wear it, at least while at work, as it is dangerous to wear jewelry of any kind in the line of work that he is in. It could get caught up in something, after all.
He doesn't always remember to wear it when he can, but I don't nag him about. Sure, it would be nice, be we know that we're married. A ring doesn't have to prove that.
Happy mylotting!

jesssp (1265) | 3 months ago | You're right, it's just a symbol, it isn't what's really important. Mine can't wear his to work either because it's dangerous so he's actually considering getting a tattoo on his ring finger instead.

7. daliaj (2865) | 3 months ago | Yes, he always wear his wedding ring. He won't go out without it. He said that once he forgot to keep it on finger while going out and he felt so lost. He will only remove it when he takes a shower. It is kind of loose to his finger and there is chance for it to go away from his finger while taking shower becaue of the slip made by soap.

8. UCantSeeMe (116) | 3 months ago | well since i am a husband ill answer this one with a little explination.
I do not wear my band..not because i dont want too..its because mine simply doesnt fit... when we first got married my ring size was an 11 then i started heavily working out and now my ring size is a 15... you probably ask well why havent i gotten a new size...well thats simple i have but we are waiting til our 5 year anniversary as we will renew our vows then and i will be wearing it then.
Oh by the way not tring to be a downer or anything but a wedding ring is a chick magnet..lol...i was hit on 120% after i got married i dont know why i never understood women...I am totaly faithful, always have been
on a secondary note my wife doesnt wear her band either...sice she is terrible at losing things she left it in a bathroom...well needless to say when we renew our vows it will be alot more special lol

jesssp (1265) | 3 months ago | Thank you for a man's perspective! After I posted this I realized I should have asked for both. My husband's is too big as well and since it's made of tungsten it can't be re sized. If he's dehydrated or anything like that he can't wear it because it will fly right off. Now he's thinking about getting a tattoo on his ring finger which I think makes sense. Congratulations of renewing your vows, I think that's great!

| 9. LittleMrsSunshine (86) | 3 months ago | My hubby wears his constantly out of the house, but like me takes his off to bath or cook. I do it cos mine is white gold and they tend to get scratched or damaged easily, his is titanium so he worries it will damage as tis so light. However, he has worn a wedding band since we got engaged! we both used to work in nightclubs so he would wear a wedding band to stop women coming on to him!
I'm a very lucky lady!

jesssp (1265) | 3 months ago | It certainly sounds like you are!
I have really noticed that the white gold gets marked easily and the finish wears off quickly if it's worn while doing anything that rubs against it. I will have my rings re dipped when I have them sized and soldered together but I'm hesitant to do it because I hate having to send them away.
| |
|
|
| LittleMrsSunshine (86) | 3 months ago | I know i hated it when i sent my engagement ring off to be re dipped and used as a model to cut the wedding ring. I had to get it made specially as the ring is diamond shaped, i like to be different and awkward. I felt naked, we had been engaged for 5 years prior to marriage so i got an old sliver plain band and wore that for the weeks it was away, don't know what i'll do when i have to get them both re done! It will prob be when i have to send them off to get the eternity ring made to match!! he however lost his engagement ring weeks before the big day, he took it off as he was working in the kitchen, a professional one i don't have health inspectors in the home, and it went missing, we think a member of staff stole it as money was going missing at teh same time. So I bought him a new one and it never comes off at work now! If i have to take mine off I put them on my chain round my neck so they are close to me whatever.

|
|
jesssp (1265) | 3 months ago | That's a good idea, I'm so paranoid of one of us losing a ring. When we got married we actually bought 'fake' bands to use for the little ceremony because I was worried about losing the real ones when we were travelling. So I think I'll just wear that one when I send mine away.

10. seanbryan (263) | 3 months ago | Hi jess,
Sad to say my husband doesn't wear our wedding ring but he has his good reasons. He never wear a ring on his hand as it ruins the steering wheel of his car and besides he's an engineer and working in a construction site. He oftentimes do some manual work and the ring might be deformed when it touches something hard like metal pipes. Of course it bothered me for sometime but I realized it's not a big deal at all, he also wouldn't mind if i'm not wearing mine, fair enough... Cheers!

jesssp (1265) | 3 months ago | Some people are just not ring wearers. I didn't think my husband would be and I was surprised that he took to it. I also don't wear mine all the time so if he forgets then it isn't a big deal either.
