Inquiring minds want to know why Obama's daughters haven't gotten their Swine flu shots. After all, the govenment wants everyone else to get it, why are they exempt? Seems kind of hypocritical to me.http://whitehouse.blogs.foxnews.com/2009/10/08/first-daughters-not-vaccinated-against-h1n1/

I might have a problem with this if the shot was mandatory, but the Obama kids or any of the others in office were exempt. If that day comes and it turns out that way then the outcry should be loud indeed.

Maybe it's not a big deal. Maybe it is picking on the president. But maybe it's something else entirely -- a big statement through non-action. It depends on how you look at it, I suppose.
We, the regular Joe Schmo public, have been told that this shot is a must. And I'm pretty sure, correct me if I'm wrong, that parents can actually get in trouble for not having their children vaccinated with regular flu shots.
It doesn't raise a question in your mind about if it's right or not for your children based on the POTUS not having his children vaccinated? That's all good and well. To each their own. But it makes me wonder why this vaccine is being pushed as the miracle prevention for the inevitable swine flu outbreak, but the first kids won't be "protected" by it's all-preventing power. It's sorta laughable if it's true.
I don't really care what he does with his kids. They're his kids. I only know what I'm reading now. But it makes me question the vaccine's effectiveness and the flu's severity.
I look at it this way: if a meteor or terrorist attack or a plague was coming, the Presiden't kids would be the first kids en route to a safe place. So if they don't need the vaccine, I wonder why I see pundits and politicians and doctors and the like from sea to shining sea telling me that my kids and my neighbors and I need it.

I don't know if this might vary by state or individual school district but I know it's not mandatory in my grandkids' school to have either flu shot and it never has been. Also, as with the regular flu shots there are some in the health profession who will say it's absolutely recommended to get it and others who say not to. My daughter is really confused because with her Crohns her immune system is very weak and it would be dangerous for her to get the swine flu but she's afraid she'll get it from the vaccination. Her doctor has said the benefits outweigh the risk so I guess she's going to get it.

I'm not picking on the president, and you're right, it is his choice. I just thought it was kind of odd when I first heard about it. We've been hearing about how deadly this flu is, for months now. It's just a head scratching moment for me, I guess.

Could it possibly be that Gibbs was telling the TRUTH about it not yet being available to them? I know it's not available in my area at this time! I can imagine what would be said if the First Daughters had gotten their vaccinations before the other children in Washington D.C. had gotten theirs!

Well it's rampant here in UK and lots of Europe - when is he off to Copenhagen to get his prize - they might need it then.. If he takes them home to Illinois - daughter just called me - every school in Springfield - the state capitol is closed due to swine flu. We live 50 miles away but she thinks her son has it and he's not even in any school - he's 23. I think he had better look around and get them the shot. They propose to fine us if we don't get flu shots if his health care plan goes into effect.

Everything they do is hypocritical. maybe the kids haven't gotten the shot because it has been under tested and no one knows for sure what type of side effects it may actually have. Personally I will not get it for my kids or myself but I home school and am careful about when and where we are when we go out. The President doesn't quite have that though as there are both official tourist tours of the White house as well as diplomatic tours, not to mention the hundreds of people who work there coming in and out. That is a lot of germs passing through their home. Even if much of it is in areas they do not live in germs have away of getting around.

I want to know when Obama and his wife are going to get their Swine flu shot haven't seen where any of them have gotten them yet.....After seeing the side effect that is going on with this Swine Flu shot I'm thinking that it may be better to get the flu and not the shot........At least you have more of a chance of serving the flu that the effects of the shot.....

Probably for the same reason the youngsters in my area havwen't gotten their swine flue shots yet even though two large high schools in the area have been closed to the epidemic...the shots were not available yet in the area.

The link was broken but I looked it up. That clown, Robert Gibbs, said that the vaccine isn't available to them based on their risk. Apparently, only children with compromised immune systems or other health problems are supposed to get it.
I don't believe that. I think they know perfectly well that the vaccine hasn't been tested enough to be safe for the public. There may even be some kind of medical or psychiatric time bomb in it. I'm paranoid, aren't I? Better that than being a sheep, though.
I want to see the prez, senate and congress ALL shipped off to random locations chosen by lottery and filmed getting their vaccinations.
