A lot of people seem to think that since I am outspoken against Obama, that must mean I'm a Republican. That was true until recently. Hoever, now I denounce the RINO party (formerly known as The Republican Party, GOP, Grand Old Party.. etc). To me, both major parties have proven that they don't give a flying fig for the US Constitution or the United States. They are corrupt mafia style gangs that need to be investigated under the RICO act. Both parties have had full control of the Exucutive and Judicial Branches of the US Government. Both have proven themselves to be to corrupt and vile to even carry out their stated goals. What they have accomplished is circumventing the US Constitution, making our Senators and Representatives little more than toadies for the parties. You can call me a lot of things, but if you really want to insult me to the bone, call me a Republican or Democrat.

Funny thing is, Ted, that I've been thinking the same thing about my party of late. That would be the Republican party for anyone who doesn't know. Look on the bright side. If enough of us get fed up with the two major parties, perhaps an Independent could have a shot in the next election.

On that we can agree, Spalladino. My voting strategy will be, vote against the incumbent, if there is a 3rd party option, vote for them. No one should be in the Federal Government for a lifetime. It is just plain wrong.

You dirty Republican!!! Just kidding - took you long enough, though. Now when will you join the dark side and become anti-party system?

It's not that I am anti party, I am pro Constitution. I have no problem with like minded people wanting to pull their resources to help get people elected. However, I do have a problem with those parties being given quasi governmental authority. Even more than that, I resent the totally unconstitutional system where the parties are who are represented in Congress instead of We the People and the several states.

Hear, hear I'm right leaning, but am not a conservative, and if a Republican means that I have to accept progressive ideology, only in smaller doses, then I'll go to my grave never supporting either party again. I have a lot of trouble with my liberal friends and other acquaintances. Since I'm not a line-toeing liberal, most automatically assume I'm a Rush-loving, Hannity-worshipping conservative. I don't even correct them 9 times out of 10. If they're so clueless that you HAVE to pledge to one side if not the other, or throw "BUSH" in my face if I criticize Obama, then it's no wonder we're in the shape we're in. Liberals and uber-progressives catch a lot more flack from me, probably 20/1, but that's because they're the ones in power now; they're the ones with majority control in pop culture, the media and in office. They seem to be the ones making legitimate enemies out of everyone not subscribing fully to their ideology. They can all kiss it, for all I care.

I wondered how long it would take reality to hit Teddy. It is always safer to be skeptical of government and only support the best of either side, on the rare occassion there is a best bit to go along with, but challenge with an open mind. So you up for a bit of PASOK bashing now?

I'm not saying take the "best from both sides", I'm saying that both major US parties are nothing more than crime syndicates that need to be investigated under the RICO act. (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act) They are nothing but labor unions for politicians and are a direct violation of the US Constitution.

Sure, I'm willing to trash all Socialist government movements, no matter what nation they have infested.

The nature of government has always been for them to be corrupt, for the individuals mainly to be in it for what they can get for themselves. Have you come across all the govenment pilfering throught tax pounds in the UK yet, huge scanadal there in recent months over false expenses on a large scale. There's always been contracts awarded everywhere for the profit rather than the benefit, corruption in government didn't just start today Teddy.

Definitely agree with you about our two parties. I too am a former Republican who resigned the party and am now a proudly UN-affiliated independent, more Libertarian than anything else. Both of the main parties are hopelessly bad. The Democrats have gotten way too radically left wing and the Republicans have lost their way entirely, they don't know what they stand for anymore and they're ALL corrupt, answering only to their respective special interests and NOT the people of this country. We need to vote them all out of office, vote out any incumbent that has been in office for more than two terms. We have term limits for president, we should have them for congress as well. I'll vote for anyone who's main concern is upholding the Constitution. We should start a "Vote Them OUT" movement and begin to reclaim our country.
