I tried to be supportive..what would you have said?

I would think my husband would have been trying to pay me a sort of compliment if my husband had got me a top that was smaller than i was not unless he was trying to say lose some weight and it might fit on your next birthday.Poor man could not do nothing right on your friends birthday,at least he tried that is more than some men do.

Hi! She might have felt that way, true enough, but he was thinking about her. So maybe he made a few mistakes, it is the thought that counts. He did remember her birthday, and was trying to express his feelings with the gifts for her. If my husband remembered my birthday it would be a blessing in and of itself. I give him an A+ for the efforts her made for her birthday.

Husbands do silly things like that. Sounds exactly like a mistake mine would have made. Actually he probably has made the mistake in the past.

I always dread opening presents from him, because he rarely gets it right. He'll get a wrong size, or something I'd just hate. I know he tries, but really... one Valentine's day he gave me a computer game... Zoo Tycoon. Yeah, it was a great game and I loved playing it... but for Valentine's day? Really?

I would have been thankful if my guy got up to go get me coffee in the morning!! I think that was him trying to be sweet!! I am a medium and guys always think I should be able to fit into a small, I have had guys get me shirts that are way too small and I'm like, "Really...you think I can fit into that??" lol but it's better than him pickout out a large!! That would really upset me!! I was looking at panties with my boyfriend one time and I said I need a medium or size 6 and he just looked at me like I was crazy! I was like what? and he said, you don't really wear that size do you?? I think guys are just clueless and we have to get over it!! lol I would have told my friend that at least he tried, and I would have let him go get me coffee for sure!!

This is a really a serious issue that your friend hubby has been
living with her for the long period of 17 years and still he does
not known the size of the wife, so that is the reasons most of the partners
would have the problems because of the non understanding and also both couples
should know all the things about each other. So You have supported your
friend in the day of birthday, and would make her more happy in order to show
your supports and her hubby in the bad mood. Anyway as a couples or partners
both are should know each other very well in order to have the good and
happy life.

at least he hubby tried, the shirt could have been a big small that looked close to a medium in hubby's view. men never pay attention to our actual size, nor do they go clothes shopping.
my mum has written out a list on what she might like for her b'day next month, all i said was i'll get money of dad and go buy his present for him. dad doesn't leave the farm unless he really has to, and is for forgetting b'days etc. they've been married 29 yrs.
thou my partner did forget my b'day this yr his mum told him, and he very quickly came home to wish my happy b'day.
men what will do with them???

you can only do so much, but being there to listen is the best thing.

I think it was sweet that he thoght she was a small. I wish I was. It is really not that importatn tin the overall scheme of things. I would have just kind of made a joke about it and said men! at least he didnt get her a large. I dont like my boyfriends getting me clothes because they invariably will get the size wrong. Men just arent that attentive in general I think.

Atleast her hubby do hi best to please her on her special day.
My hubby always asks me, what i wanted on my bday's.
So he never get wrong to pick the stuff for me.

I would be happy that he even thought to try and get me something that he liked or that he wanted me start my day off nice ith some coffee. I don't understand why the friend would be angry with him for trying to be nice and make her day somewhat special since she had to work tw jobs.

That does sound pretty ungrateful. Thats a shame. Maybe next year he will just ignore her birthday, then she will be hoping for a cup of coffee and a shirt!
