Is your life better or worse since Obama become president?  |

 Looking at your overall situation - financial, satisfaction, freedoms, etc... Just your life in general is it better or worse than before Obama became president. Why?
My financial situation is worse - I pay more for the things I need ever day. Gas is higher and going up. Food and clothes are higher. Utilities are higher. Taxes are higher - local, income, property. Overall I feel that my situation is worse over the past year.

As do we the people, buying houses we couldn't afford, being in debt way beyond our ability to pay, just in general being irresponsible and not demanded that government change their ways. | |

My life has been going down now for over a year. I also remember when oil prices were over $150 a barrel and the prices at the pump (apparently - I do not drive) were breaking record highs - that was two years ago! And then there were the worldwide riots over the price of food in April 2008 (seven months before the US Presidential election) ....
It has not got better since Obama became President, in fact things have not seemed so bleak in over 20 years, but this been an erosion going on IMHO for two or three years, not just one.

The country is further in debt now. The government is spending money at all time high rate. We are in a downward spiral made worse not better by our current government. | |

| 4. peavey (3827) | 2 months ago |  Overall, my financial situation hasn't changed that much since January of this year, but I am beginning to feel the pinch in some areas. Worse than mine is my daughter's, who just lost her job, due to the economy. Things are going to be tough for her, with costs rising on almost everything. Hopefully she will find another one soon, but there aren't many out there.

| 5. spalladino (9061) | 2 months ago |  It depends on what area of my life I'm looking at. I lost my job in 2008, while Bush was in office. The value of the properties we own started to plummet before Obama took office, the price of gas was through the roof and so was the cost of just about everything else.
Today, real estate values here in Florida are starting to rebound in many areas, the price of gas isn't what it was last year and other things have gone down slightly. My husband and I opened a business in Jan. 2009 and it's doing well so people do have money to spend. Our utilities are higher but that's a state problem, not a national or federal one.

Because my future income will come from my investments and the President is talking about increasing taxes on Dividends and Capital Gains, my future income will be lower. From the projections I may not receive my full Social Security, which I have paid into for over 40 years. I have seen food prices rise because of his administration forcing the ethanol (from Corn) standard on us. He has made us less safe by treating the terrorist as criminals rather than the enemy.
To answer I am not as well off as under President Bush.
