Why not keep quiet in public?

Whenever I meet such people, I often tend to pay no attention to them and ignore the extistence of them. If you lay too much emphasis on them, then they may feel proud and talk more loudly.

Keeping in quiet is a way to respect others and ourselves.

I have to agree with you. I was raised not to make a scene in public and I would not have an argument out in the street or in a restaurant. I would wait to discuss personal things until I got home. I think its very rude to shout and argue in public, you shouldn't ruin others peoples days with your squabbles.

I definitely agree with you, especially when they insist on using swearing and foul language. I have also found that people who talk with a loud voice are the same ones who stand talking, blocking a passage way and glare when you want to pass.

Last week I had been counselling someone with deep problems and felt I needed a break. I went into a nice coffee shop to relax with a cuppa and was enjoying the break when a group of women seated themselves near me. They had VERY loud voices and while I was pleased they were happy, their laughing (read cackling or something raucous) was very annoying and spoiled my quiet little break. Such is life!

I agree with you, I think it is not good manner to speak loudly in public, and this important it will disturb others. It's not a good custom.

Some people that are extrovert like to talk loudly when out so many people can hear. There was a teenager on a bus and everyone could hear what he was talking about. It was inconsiderate of him. Other people probably found it challenging to concentrate on their discussions. I have noticed that some people talk almost as loud as a fog horn.

I imagine that older people that have some loss of hearing might talk really loudly and I feel sorry for them. Rather that being annoying they have a medical condition. Their hearing might get even worse and they could become deaf. I have taught a girl and both her parents were deaf.

I think we should be speaking softly when in public. It is anoying when others are speaking so loudly I can barely hear what the person I am sitting next to is saying. This inculdes people who feel they have to liveon their dang cell phone and scream into it.

I really dislike people laughing and talking loudly all the way on buses, in restaurants even in cinemas.
yesterday evening, I was waiting in a restaurant for a table. That restaurant is so popular that I got a waiting list of NO.44, and the waiter was calling customer No. 24. So there were 20 customers ahead of me. Therefore, I sat in the corner and put on my earphone to listen to my mp3. Even though I turned up the volumn to the max, I could hardly hear it because there were so many noises around me. I don't see why people always talk so loudly when having a meal.

It is not proper to be loud in public-- it will catch attention and bad impression or negative reaction from people around. you will appear crazy and insensitive and the worst is you can be charged with public scandal for being so LOUD and annoying people.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I am especially irked by people who talk so loudly on their mobile phones. Those who talk to eachother like they're the only people around also make me raise an eyebrow. I think it's supposed to be part of public etiquette that you don't talk like everyone else in the world is hard in hearing.
