Are you anticipating being POLICE-d by the new MyLot mod?

This might get deleted. But I'm going to throw it out anyway. What are your expectations of this new addition to MyLot, GoAskAlice? As I understand it, today is her (his?) last day of posting daily discussions about improvements we feel that MyLot should make.. And as rumor has it, she (he? Sorry. Not trying to confuse your gender here!!) is going to start "participating" in discussions. What I'm wondering now is what this "partcipation" entails. Is GoAskAlice going to respond to questions only related to MyLot? Or are they going to slap us on the wrists for breaking minor Guideline rules? Are we going to be police-d? Or are they going to act as a normal MyLot member - by asking and answering questions that are personal? I'm confused as to what I should be expecting. I don't usually break any rules or anything, but even despite all that, anyone with authority still makes me a little nervous. . What are your expectations of this GoAskAlice? Do you have any predictions to make? Let's make some bets! (Non-gambling ones.. of course. )

I am not worried over it. I do not see the reason why I should break into a sweat, since as far as I know I have not committed any serious 'crime' or infraction. I guess she will be participating the same way as we do. Most probably she will not slap any wrist but will give a gentle reminder, or give pointers or directions to the correct path. My prediction is there will be some overall improvement.

It is not a 'rumour' as it is something that Alice herself said in responses on her discussions. Once she has dealt with responses and comments that she has received and then has passed on everything to the programmers she will be free to participate in other discussions. I get the feeling that you think this is something new? MyLot have always, when necessary, participated in discussions started by users. They are always aware of the discussions that are posted. If you look at the friend list on her profile and open up those profiles you can see that admins have responded in the past when they have felt it was necessary. I certainly do not feel nervous as I feel nothing more in the way of 'policing' will be taking place compared to that of the past. If Alice is going to be available to answer queries by users then I welcome that. We shall see but I see it as absolutely positive that we now have a direct contact with someone from the 'other side'. If you read her discussions you will see that she is fun and more fun on the discussions is more than welcome!

No. Of course I've acknowledged the fact that there are people who go around and delete discussions that break the rules, but I've never seen an actual user who did this kind of stuff. It's new for me - maybe not you - but keep in mind I've been here for only about under a year now. I've had annoying experiences on other PTP forums where they literally catch EVERY little thing you say and do wrong. Obviously, MyLot is 20x better than any other PTP site, but I still have to wonder.

Here there are Guidelines which must be followed. We are asked to report any violations but we, the users, cannot delete anything. That is up to admins. It is up to us to help keep myLot filled only with quality by reporting any violations and I have reported plagiarists, spammers and cheaters every time I come across them. This is no place for them as they take aways earnings form the honest users

we cannot delete any discussions so you are wrong, even if a mylotter just felt mean and turned in a discussion to the admins the admins will not just delete on our say so. the admins makes the decisions on deleting not us, I have never policed anyone or turned any discussion in, I did protest when someone wrote some vicious responses to a discussion of mine as they were very abusive.

Fear nothing when you have done nothing to provoke others or break the rules here. All along the admin have kept their surveillance of this site and the only thing that changes is having put Alice to mingle with mylotters. She is the ears and eyes of Admin and let her do her job without fear or favor. I am happy that she is around with us as it might deter some bad hats from causing a stir to this site as had happened before. Hopefully she can keep this place smooth running for the comfort of its members. We do need an active mod to be here so we can reach out to her when the need arises. Many are aware that it is not easy to reach out to admin as they are either too busy or just refuse to attend to individual problems pertaining to this site. So Alice presence is very much welcomed.

hi maezee I think she will be okay and just act like a normal mylot member. Ido hope she corrects a few things that most of'us have been complaining about. but she does not strike me as a malicious police woman type at all. Maybe she might take some of our suggestions about notifying us when we have something deleted just what we did wrong.I do think we should all read the guidelines and all the info mylot has for us. but I am not at all worried as she sounds rather benign to me.

Hi maezee! First, there's no reason for this discussion to be deleted. Second, I don't think there's any need for concern. My job isn't so much to "police" the site as it is to help where help is needed. I'll be participating in myLot related discussions and occasionally even start my own if there's a need. I hope that answers your questions and alleviates your fears!
