Tattoos In A Foreign Language... |
| |
| Tattoos have become wildly popular over the last few years…hardly anyone I know doesn’t have at least one. The ones I get a kick out of are the ones in foreign languages like Chinese or Japanese. A friends son went and got his name tattooed in Japanese letters right about his privates. When he got home he showed his mom (I was there visiting), she thought it was funny. I asked him if he spoke Japanese and he said no. So I asked him how did he know it was his name. He kind of looked surprised. His mom said maybe it said Dumb*ss in Japanese or Sh*tface. She drove him nuts trying to guess what it might really say LOL. I don’t know if he ever found out for sure if it was his name or not but it makes me wonder…why would anyone put something like a permanent tattoo on their body without being 100% sure that it read what it was supposed to. Would you ever get a tattoo of your name in a foreign language? Would you trust someone to just put it on without checking first? ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS** | | Tina In Chinese...Tina In Chinese...Tina In Chines | | | | |

| | I think if I was him I would not want to get to intimate with a Japanese girl, he might find out that he was had. Or get someone who could read Japanese to interpret it for him. Myself I would be too embarrassed to have someone put a tattoo that near my private parts, unless of course it was my girlfriend or wife. | | | | | | |

| | First of all, I would never get a tattoo at all. Not worth the pain! And I don't think they look good when you get older and still have them. Second, to get one and not know for sure what it says is funny :) I bet there are tattoo artists out there who have gotten away with messing with other people's tattoos. However I would hope if you go to a reputable place that they wouldn't do anything wrong b/c they wouldn't want it to come back and ruin their reputation. But so many people will go to the cheapest guy to get a tattoo so in that case, I'd be worried. | | | | | | |

| | This reminds me of a television program that featured some wildly popular new tee shirts that were imported. They had Chinese (I think) characters on them, really large, center front. The kids all thought they were neat. It turns out that all that was on the shirt was the size, S, M, L, XL. At least this was not a permanent label but was on a shirt that could be taken off. I would not have anything tattooed on me. I would certainly get the meaning corroborated if it was a foreign language. Funny. | | | | | | |

| | I wouldn't. It might very well be my name phonetically and still be a swear word. My daughter likes those sites that show products from the orient with European wording and some of them are terrible innuendo but not meant to be anything particularly rude. Sweets and snacks mostly but even shop names sometimes or names on T shirts. | | | | | | |

| | Hi Twoey I do have some tattoo's but never would I ever have my name or anyone else's name on my body, the ones I do have all have a meaning to me and are not just a pattern but as for names there are a few friends of mine who have but now regret it. So in all my answer is 'no' I wouldn't have mine or anyone elses name in whatever language tatooed on me....LoLo | | | | | | |

| | I don't understand why anyone would get a tattoo in the first place, other than maybe eyebrows if they never grew back after chemo. | | | | | | |

| | Eyebrow tattoos are very popular. They need to be redone every year though. My mom has them because she can't do a good job with a pencil. I just have mine colored every few months. It's cheaper. To be going gray at my ages sucks. | | | |

| | I wouldn't have a tatto of any kind. I don't blame anyone for getting them if they want them but i think when they cover their boby up w/them it's gross. | | | | | | |
