Hatley, you are so correct! I saw a few things happen in previous administrations that I didn't care for and that didn't make that party all animals.

It's been groupthink here since the campaign, Hatley. Democrat or Republican (of which I'm one), if you don't agree with the group, you're not decent and apparently are evil. If you agree with anything the president or his administration says or does, you're called names and ridiculed. The stupidest, nitpicky discussions that are in any way against the president or his administration receive a long list of "I agree with you" responses. Fortunately, Hatley, this board does not reflect the sentiments of the majority of this country.

Lets not forget that the Democrats are the ones who see people as groups and blocks of voters. They have talked about the rich being out to get you, the rich don't pay their fair share of taxes, I give thm that much the top 20% pay 80% of the taxes whild the bottom 50% consume 70+% of the government programs. It is also always about the children. We need to spend more money on education for the children, while the they tell the local district how to spend the money. Yopu look at their supporters and they are always demanding more money, more benefits, more and more.

I agree with Hatley. And it was against the will of many Americans to have W in office, deal with it, the democrats are trying to clean up the messes made from 2001-2008.

I remember reading about the dark ages but now I see people threatening the President and who believe all the lies about our President would have been right at home during that time.

First of all the Fairness Doctrine is not dead. It may be the fairness doctrine or it may be forcing radio stations to air local programs but the FCC head is for it, Speaker Pelosi is for it and President Obama is for it. This they don't even need congressional approval, they will just regulate it. I don't think that Card Check is dead either because the Union Leadership put pressure on congress to pass the Health Care and a few congressmen admitted they changed their vote because of the Union threatening to withdraw Pac Monies. Amnesty may have to be forced through like the Health Care Bill even though the American People voiced their opposition just a couple of years ago and don't think they won't again.

Bob, they have been forcing local air time for decades, listen to the radio on a Sunday morning, or a Sunday night, and you will see this. Card check doesn't bother me at all, it is a dream that will have little to no chance to come true. The problem with illegal immigration is that SOME Americans feel that getting rid of illegals will make the country better. That is until they have to pay $10 for A tomato. Then you will see how much they love illegal immigration.

By the way I had to laugh at republicans complaining about PAC's threatening representatives with removal of funds if they didn't vote a certain way. Tom DeLay made this into an art form when he ran the "pay to play" republican controlled congress. Why is it wrong when democrats do it, but fine and dandy when republicans do?

The argument will be that this will only help you fight because of your vote on the Health Care. What more can they do to you.

I agree, with this one congress showed the people they could care less what they thought, that they are not there to work for us but to do as they see fit, I am looking for a hugh shakeup in November when election time comes. If the people can't get the ones they elected to do as they ask or at least to try, then they should be out and find someone that does care, you know they are put there to work for us, and they seem to have forgottent that. I think this has woke up the american people to the fact that a lont time ago they should of spoke up and let congress know when they disapproved of some law that they was getting ready to pass. We have sit back and let them take over and I hope the people will now see that unless you speak up, you can't complain about what you get handed to you.

You do realize - A LOT of people supported this bill. Just because you didn't, doesn't mean that your blanket statement of "Congress showed the people they could care less what they thought."

I've lost my own political battles in the past two years, and I didn't make up numbers that simply don't exist to try to make myself feel better. That is what the republicans do, constantly making up ridiculous jillion dollar tax increases and inflating how many people actually opposed this bill.

November will be more interesting, especially as our youth grows into voting age. Luckily, the youth nowadays is much more liberal and much more involved. And they are sick to death of fat cat republicans, unethical trade and wall street.

Every Poll done in the past couple of weeks, including Democrat commission ones, found that a majority of the people opposed this bill for various reasons. The approval rating of Congress is in the 30% range. During this debate we saw rules being changed for the sake of one party. We saw procedures used to block the process. We saw a nation divided over this issue. Unlike the Civil Rights movement and the Anti War movement this protest did not turn violent.

We all know that polls can be doctored, or taken from a specific control group and then those results are ballooned and said to be the opinions of "All Americans".

I suggest we take a poll of those who have been denied insurance due to preexisting conditions, and of their families, and see what the results are then.

In the House Fix Bill is the Government take over of the student loan program. Soon we may see a political test for college loans. Think it is outragous? The University of Minnesota requires students to take a class or training for Diversity before they can enter certain college within the University.

The IRS will be monitoring you insurance to see if you have the right coverage. If you contact the IRS with a tax question you will get as many different answers as the number of agents you talk to. The bill did not include the cost for the additional 16,500 anew IRS agents that will be hired to monitor you Health Insurance. Very comforting thought if you have ever had to deal with the IRS.

I actually have dealt with the IRS when I had to make a payment plan to pay my taxes. It was handled rather easily and without any penalty fees.

The government will be regulating the coverage providers to see to it that all Americans can have access to medical care. Finally, we will join the rest of Western civilization and have universal medical coverage and no longer support healthcare denial for profit.

Ladybug---why are you assuming that EVERYONE against the bill is because of scare tatics used by the republicans?Have you talked to ALL of them to find out? Some people actually listened to both sides, listend to the news, maybe even read the bill....and did not like it. Did not support it because they did not agree with some of the things in the bill.

And those are the same people who consider the line item veto to be unconstitutional.

I can fully understand when logical people make a logical judgment based on accurate information.

For the sake of argument, a democrat could say a fabric was orange, and that would be correct. The republicans could say the fabric was the colour made when red and yellow are mixed. And, that would be correct. They could not say it was purple, because that would be an outright lie.

But, in the case of this debate, their smear campaign was oozing scare tactics and lies. And many of their supporters gladly wear blindfolds, are too ignorant to realize when they are being lied to or manipulated, and apparently they value money and power to the lives of 40,000 people.

Because the bill sucked. Read it yourself. It is NOT going to solve our issues. It is only going to give more money and power to the insurance companies. Which is something I think we can all agree on being a bad thing.

Tell me honestly...have you read the bill. YOu do know what it covers..what it doesn't. Do you FULLY understand what this bill will and won't do? Please explain to me how my isnurance will not go up if they are forced to accept everyone with pre existing conditions, remove the life time cap, and pay for my children to age 26? We were told that our perimums would go down 3000%. He misspoke it will be $3,000 year. How is that possible?

Just how will the panal that determines the best and most cost effective medical treatments will work and not cause rationing or denial of coverage.We have been told by the president that pace makers may not be available to people over a certain age. Where is the Tort Reform that the President said he was including in the bill after having the sumit with the Republicans. I did not see that in the Senate Bill nor in any of the Fixes.

What happens if I get seriously ill in the next 4 years there is no coverage other than my insurance but I will be paying for it starting very soon. What do I do if my employer decides to pay the $2250 or $3000 fine and drop my insuranc
