Yes it has been really nice here for March in Minnesota. No snow fell this month at all which I think is a record actually. In my 36 years here I can not recall no snow ever in March. Anyhow, things are popping up all over the place. Lilies, lilacs, Astillibes, other flowers. And this is a shot of my Red Maple tree starting to blossom as well. All a lot early for us Minnesotans. Is your spring early this year as far as blossoming plants/flowers?

Yes, here in The Netherlands is also starting to be better. No more cold weather which frezes your bones when you go out. Spring is the best season in the year if you ask me, because it not too warm, but at the same time is not too cold. Maybe the second best is Fall, just after the summer when it gets to be a little colder, but not yet very cold. Maybe even fall is better then the spring, because in the spring time it still rains a lot.

Spring is my favorite season. I've been to Holland and I really enjoyed it over there. That was in 1973. I was with a tour group and we toured 6 countries in Europe. We went to England, Holland, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and France. The city we went to in Holland was Amsterdam and we took a boat ride on the Amsterdam Canal. I also bought some wooden shoes there. We saw a lot of windmills. We didn't see any tulips, though. It was in June when we went and they weren't in bloom at the time. Are they in bloom now? Kathy.

We have been way above normal temperature wise. But it is going to get back down into the high 30's F this weekend too. So I still don't plant outside for a couple weeks at least I think.

This all sounds so beautiful! We had a little bit of snow in March but it didn't stick. I have a long driveway and I have some buttercups blooming down it. I've also seen some little purple flowers popping up out in my yard and in the pasture. They might be lilacs. I don't know. My mother knew a lot about flowers when her mind was still good and she could always tell me what kind they were. I've also seen some trees with white blooms on them all over the place. Kathy.

They may be African or wild violets. I am talking about the little purple flowers.

hi Grandpa Bob here in California its hard to tell the seasons but we alwayss have some things blooming in the yards around here. the jacaranda trees are just popping out in a blue purple haze of blossoms all over the trees. they are so pretty too, specially if there is a streetful of them as it makes a long lilac colored row of trees, they bloom first then the leavesall pop out. really so beautiful too.also we have smaller trees called crepe myrtles in pastel shades that are very pretty.lilies grow here but sadly no lilacs guess its the wrong climate for them.Star jasmines are in bloom now too and smell so good.

Never heard of the trees ya mentioned.
I lived in Florida one winter and hated it.
Christmass without snow isn't right.

Lilacs and things like tulips have to have freezing temps to set blooms. When I lived in California I really enjoyed seeing the Bottle Brush trees. I do not recall seeing a jacaranda. There were lots of Oleanders, and Poinsettia bushes near San Diego, where I lived. Crepe Myrtles are more like bushes here. @Grandpa Bob, you have probably seen Crepe Myrtles, I saw some when I was in your city, but it will be May or June before they will bloom there.

We have daffodils all over the place here. They started popping up almost 2 weeks ago. The kids and I planted some marigolds today in the flower box on the front porch. I think my daughter got a little carried away with the seeds though. The wind got a hold of some of them so, who knows were there will be marigolds soon.

I plant gold marigolds around my lily beds to keep the rabbits away. It is the only color that the smell deters them from eating my lilies. A trick I learned from a friend here on myLot.

I'm glad y'all are having such good weather. It is beautiful here. Spring is my very favorite season. Things get so ugly in the winter & i just love seeing everything greening up & blooming. Guess we are pretty much on track here.

I actually prefer winter. I love the snow and cold.
Better than the heat and humidity here.
Here's a photo of a few of my Asiatic Lilies sticking up now.

Forsooth, I have forsythias and they bloomed out yesterday. This is about on time for around here. I have jonquils up and blooming that I do not remember planting. Crocus that I know I did not plant, but they come back every year. I have been good to them and they have multiplied a little. Pretty soon I will have Star of Bethlehem everywhere. Happy Happy Spring.

Hi GRANDPA BOB,

We are not so lucky with the weather, it has been very cold and windy, some parts of Scotland has had snow, we had plenty of rain as well so its not a very goode British Summer time here, the only thing that is in bloom are the daffodils at the moment, we are a bit slow here, lol!

it is nice to know that you have so many blooming flowers right now in your area. we don't have spring in my country. but it is quite hot now here. and i am happy to see lots of flowers up in my banana tree. and this is the first time we have a banana tree having flowers. and soon it will be big bananas. i guess after two months they will turn into big or long bananas. it is quite fun to see this banana flower right now. as we are living in the city rarely i see this kind of thing. though i see bananas a lot in the market but i don't see much often how the process they went through before they become big bananas.
