Roses red, violets blue, a penny for every deletion, whats your view?  

hi diana I usually can spot them so just failed a few times, and Ihave
had some mixed feelings when responding in order to help a newcomer to
realise he or she has broken a rule. You know I did not really think that
others might see me responding and maybe not knowing all the rules either
just follow me. Oh my thats sort of hard to deal with as I may have caused others to get their responses deleted also. Yes the lamb brought up some political responses that someone has swiped and one of them was mine.Which surprised me in a lot of ways, as I rarely respond to political discussions as it gets too heated, and I am a bit too sensitive I guess. But there it was and I felt really angered too. I always try to be honest and not break any rules, then someone comes along and uses my response.

They have followed me too Hatley so we are both to blame - but on the other hand, if they were aware of the Guidelines they would have known that we were only helping out.

I don't go into politics. I think I have been twice in the whole time I am here. It's not a topic I discuss offline either.

I totally agree because I recently responded to a discussion from a newby and even warned them that they should read the guidelines because a post like this may get deleted. Then I did answer their question. What is ironic though, is today I tried going through all my discussions, (Yeah, it was a pain and I know this post didn't get deleted, but I can't find it), and some of the things I am warning newbys about is similar to ones I started when I was new. I feel bad, because I got credit, but I was new and lost and I think maybe someone who is new, should have a little leeway, until they get use to the site..I don't know, just a suggestion, because if a newby keeps getting their posts deleted, they won't like it and won't be active here. It takes some learning, at least it did for me and I am still confused..lol.

hi diana and carmelanirel I think its really ironic the one time I responded to a rather belligerent poster defending Obama and it
gets stolen and used. grrrr. Yes really all newcomers must read the
guidelines as we can only give so much help and its there for the
reading. i also stumbled a lot as a newcomer myself but I did go back
and read all the information and it really helped me to start enjoying mylot for a lot more than just the earnings.

Hi Diana, and Hatley, I am guilty of starting one recently. :( I am really sorry that some of my friends are likely to lose monies there. :( But can I request a little help from both of you? Why dont you respond in block letters - clearly indicating that the discussion violates the guidelines and is likely to be deleted, and make it bold. That will prevent others coming in and responding and losing monies I suppose. And thanks for helping us always. :)

I know that when we re new on any site it is not easy. I had the same problems too and it took a long time to get the hang of things here. however I do not think that being lenient with new users would resolve any problems. They do not lose their account for the first 'offence' but surely giving them a 'license to make multiple offenses' would not help the quality here? Just like new drivers, they have to learn the ropes and just because they are allowed to drive but are new does not mean that they can jump the red lights or drive the wrong way down one-way streets right?

That's true diana, they do need to learn and sometimes we have to learn the hard way. As for removing your avatar? Oh no, don't do that, for some reason when I was without a computer your avatar was one that popped into my head a lot. Maybe because I was lost without internet and your avatar made me think a lot.. Anyways, if you do decide, let me know first, I want to use it for some of my other sites..:)

hi carmelanirel yes and the first time I saw it I Had to laugh, then I got such a kick out of diana keeping the flow going on my own discussion that I had thought was a fizzle. I kept seeing that yellow face and those eyes rolling and felt great all day.

catdla1 yes because I did go back and read and reread all the discussion material and questions and answers and this particular one looked fine yet I got a notification that my response was deleted because the
discussion I responded to had been deleted. Although usually in going back I can sort of see why maybe if one ponders long enough it might have broken x rule.

hi palegemini thats one of the first things I look for too
is certain curse words and anything with sexual inuendoes in
it. Also I am myself very careful. One New Years eve I was
Posting about watching the ball drop in Times Square on the
D%ck Clark show and to my amazement I had to reword the name
as it was illegal to use the nickname he has always gone by.
But I could see mylots reasons of course so remembered after
that one.

hi dragon54u I stay away from most of them asking about
the same questions that are in mylots questions and answers
as those almost always get deleted.Also if there are a whole
flurry of discussions made on some current news event that
evokes outrage, and a lot of mylotters all put this in their
discussions at the same time,not knowing the topic had already
been put in a discussion. Also any discussion that comes out
and asks for donations is headed for mylot cemetary or that
tries to use their discussion to gather customers for their
particular business.

Thanks for the clues, am hopeless at knowing or thinking a discussion may gey deleted, and am have been here 3yrs! lol but will listen to what you have said it might help me now...LoLo

hi the zone you brought up a good tip I had not thought of , the
tags as I had noticed after the fact that one I had misjudged had
been tagged probably get deleted. Now had I read that first I would
have bypassed it in deed. After all its not much fun to make a
lengthy response only to have it deleted as you missed seeing it
was a rule breaker.

hi bunnybon I had been doing very well lately then found one that got my response deleted as I had thought it was a good discussion, while I have seen some that I know have broken a rule and they are still here. I
often wonder if it is okay to report those or would mylot admins get all upset seeing they have not been deleted after several weeks.

I responded to one by a regular friend last night, but knew it would be deleted. It certainly was today. I forget, sometimes, that what is acceptable on my one site is not acceptable here. It really does not bother me though, as we still exchanged some information.

hi Kathy and GardenGerty I also have been guilty of responding to some I knew would be deleted as I could see this really new newcomer with only four points so far was really lost,so I tried to explain why it would be deleted and hoped he or she would take it the right way. lol

hji gardengerty I wish I could say that but the thing is I do depend on what I make to pay for my monthly cable bill for the internet,after all if I did not keep paid I could not mylot, but its a lot more than the earnings to me, I really enjoy being here.

hi tamarafireheart yes I have done that too and did reread all the information and still could not see why it was deleted unless somewhere there were others like hers that had been done before hers. lol lol lol.

hi carmelanirel but you are really doing well you have over six thousand points now so dont fret too much over one or twp losses.

Oh yeah I am doing well here, but this site I am looking for is nowhere to be seen..Like maybe I imagined it or something. (but I know I didn't, I taught my son to swim using this site..) So when I search for it in the discussions, it makes me wonder why I can't find it. It didn't go against the guidelines, it was about this site, not a money making site, but one where you can find how to videos and it was not the howto site, it was another site that I actually had registered with.

NOw you can use it. thats one thing I wish they had here, thats
a swimming pool as with my lame leg its hard to walk but swimming
is really great exercise for me. lol.

Yes, swimming is the best exercise when you can't walk or run. And even though I found the site, I forgot my password. So I clicked on the "forgot user name and password" 3 times before I contacted them. They replied back with my user name and temporary password, but it still won't let me in. So I will have to sign up again using a different e-mail address..:(
