These are the words of Las Vegas Investor, Stephen Wynn. He is a Democrat, strong supporter of Harry Reid, and used to support Obama. I know it's long, but read it all, it explains why there is no job growth in the US right now.
Stephen Wynn
Well, here's our problem. There are a host of opportunities for expansion in Las Vegas, a host of opportunities to create tens of thousands of jobs in Las Vegas. I know that I could do 10,000 more myself and according to the Chamber of Commerce and the Visitors Convention Bureau, if we hired 10,000 employees, it would create another 20,000 additional jobs for a grand total of 30,000. I believe in Las Vegas. I think its best days are ahead of it. But I'm afraid to do anything in the current political environment in the United States. You watch television and see what's going on, on this debt ceiling issue. And what I consider to be a total lack of leadership from the President and nothing's going to get fixed until the President himself steps up and wrangles both parties in Congress. But everybody is so political, so focused on holding their job for the next year that the discussion in Washington is nauseating. And I'm saying it bluntly, that this administration is the greatest wet blanket to business, and progress and job creation in my lifetime. And I can prove it and I could spend the next 3 hours giving you examples of all of us in this market place that are frightened to death about all the new regulations, our healthcare costs escalate, regulations coming from left and right. A President that seems -- that keeps using that word redistribution. Well, my customers and the companies that provide the vitality for the hospitality and restaurant industry, in the United States of America, they are frightened of this administration. And it makes you slow down and not invest your money. Everybody complains about how much money is on the side in America. You bet. And until we change the tempo and the conversation from Washington, it's not going to change. And those of us who have business opportunities and the capital to do it are going to sit in fear of the President. And a lot of people don't want to say that. They'll say, "Oh God, don't be attacking Obama." Well, this is Obama's deal, and it's Obama that's responsible for this fear in America. The guy keeps making speeches about redistribution, and maybe we ought to do something to businesses that don't invest or holding too much money. We haven't heard that kind of talk except from pure socialists. Everybody's afraid of the government, and there's no need to soft peddling it, it's the truth. It is the truth. And that's true of Democratic businessman and Republican businessman, and I am a Democratic businessman and I support Harry Reid. I support Democrats and Republicans. And I'm telling you that the business community in this company is frightened to death of the weird political philosophy of the President of the United States. And until he's gone, everybody's going to be sitting on their thumbs.

More crap. If the problem is Obama, where are all the jobs these guys created when Bush was in office? They did not hire people then, either; they just took their tax cuts and used them for nice vacations. I do not believe this guy was ever a supporter of Obama. What does he want ? More tax cuts, which will result in even larger deficits? It will not make a difference. I challenge him and all of his business cronies who blame their refusal to create jobs on Obama--or tax rates--or whatever:
We will give you a tax rate of 5% for two years. If in that time you have hired 13 million people at a living wage--which is about 14 bucks an hour--and they must be full-time--your tax rate will become permanent. If you have not hired enough people or you do not pay them enough, the tax rate goes to 90% for anything over one million dollars in income. I guarantee you not a single person would accept the offer--because they have no intention of ever hiring full-time employees and paying them a living wage.
I state categorically, this guy is just a liar. He did not hire new people when Bush was in office and now he says he won't hire because Obama is in office.
Liar.

I've never earned $14 an hour yet, in the 14 years I've been working... I seem to living. No, I don't have tons of money, but I am living, and I do have several thousand in my bank account.
"living wage" is just leftist garbage to support their 'regulate everything' theory of life.
Raising the minimum wage does nothing but destroy jobs. I always has in the past, it did in 2008 and 2009, and it will in the future.

And one more thing, just to smack this idiocy down... This isn't the first time we've gone through this.
Does anyone remember from their American history when the last time business owners refused to invest in America because of an out of control government they didn't trust?
1930s. Go read about it. Business owners said the same thing then. Why should I hire people when I don't know what FDR is going to do?
Great depression.
Really? You mean doing the same thing all over again, has the same results? This isn't rocket science.

This seems to repeat what I hear from other people in business. If we add employees what will it cost us next year and nobody can answer the question. even the President agrees it is foolish to raise the Debt Ceiling (2007,2008 he voted present on the question).
Why should someone invest more money and time to expand your business if you are going to lose it to increased taxes or regulations. This president has gone over the wishes of congress and issued executive orders for more regulations and costs to business.
What we need is less government control and a fair tax policy that applies to all income including non cash government benefits (welfare).

It's looking like that's exactly what they might do.

I applaud his honesty. It's the sticking point that everyone is tiptoeing around for fear of being called a racist. We need more people to come out and say these things in public, make people see the truth of what's happening.
What we need is to somehow get people away from tabloids, reality shows, daytime TV, People magazine, sports, video games and the like and expose them to at least a solid week of education in economic reality. I don't think the majority of people understand just how bad it is. Even people who have lost their jobs and been on unemployment for years are still clinging to hope that this president will save them. because they have no idea how things work.

It's good to hear this from a Democrat. It's what Republican business owners and Independent business owners have been saying all along. Why should they invest when they have no idea what Team Obama will pull next?

Well business is business and no decent businessman is so vested in politics that he'll support policies that hurt him and his employees directly. Of course now you'll see, as on this thread, the left will pretend he was never a democrat even though he's given thousands of dollars to campaigns for democrats like Harry Reid, Charles, Rangel, and Joe Biden.
