I was reminded of this tv series from one of my friends discussion here and I remembered that I was looking for DVD copies of this but was not able to find one. So I decided to download it online and thank god there were torrents available.
I remember years ago I really enjoyed watching this series. I loved Xena a lot, she's strong, beautiful and sexy and even gods are interested in her (either to kill or to be their ally). I loved their adventures. I just love Greek mythology!
Anyone liked/likes Xena?

I love her!
I used to run around work doing her war cry. People used to call me Xena. You didn't know I was a wild warrior woman, did you?
Prior to that, I was called wonderwoman.
I had a horoscope one time that said, "You're your own superhero." I thought, "How true that is."

Writersedge, you did her war cry??? That's amazing!!!
I love it when Xena does that! I want to do it, too but I can't.
It's not fit for my voice. And no, I did not know you were a wild warrior. What do you mean by that?
I wish I can be my own superhero, too!!!

You remind me of my brother writersedge. He photoshopped his face unto Superman's body, got Superman's hairstyle, photoshopped his face again unto Ironman's body, got a t-shirt with Captain America just because his friends made him team captain at their sportsfest at work. lol!
But he's so full of optimism, it's not childish at all. I mean half of the time.
I believe you're the same as him.

Now that is a blast form the past, I was surprised that Lucy Lawless is not on screen more, because she was quite good with her role and their adventures were entertaining, though their mythology wasn't always the most accurate it was entertaining.
Oh by the way if your still interested I found a few links to Amazon with the DVD collection, the full set is pricey though but here are the links
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007DA3VG/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_2?pf_rd_p=1278548962&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B0009KA2R2&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1P1AVMCYKJASJ379YB84
1st season is cheaper though

Have fun reliving the adventures

Thanks for the links! But I found torrents where I can download season 1 and 2.
I think I saw Lucy Lawless in a film, I just can't remember what it was. But it was a minor role and she was in the side of the villains. And it was a comedic role. I did not really recognize her but she still looked beautiful and sexy as ever.

Have you seen Lucy Lawless in Spartacus : Blood and Sand, besides being based in Rome it has little or nothing similar to Xena. This show is not light viewing. The story and action give justice to the Blood in the title, they must buy it by the truckload and they do not shy away form both violent and explicit depictions of not only the battles in the arena but lives they lead. The show though good is a totally different style, but Lucy Lawless is amazing in her role.

Yes, I loved Xena and Hercules too.
Actually any of that modern day Greek mythology stuff. When I was a kid there were movies about Sinbad the sailor and treasures in caves where the magic words to open the cave were "Open Sesame". I loved anything like that...have you seen Jason and the Argonauts?
I've never downloaded anything from the net. Is it hard to do? Expensive?
I have a Playstation game of Xena...it's great too.

I like movies and shows based on mythologies, too! I think I have seen that movie about Sinbad but I'm not sure if I have watched Jason and the Argonauts. I will search for it and see if I have watched it already or not. ^^
It's not expensive. It's free actually.
I use utorrent in downloading movies. I just search for torrent files of movies or shows I want to download and then I download it via utorrent.

Yay for mythology! :D
I used to watch Xena too. She was a very fascinating character. Almost like the female version of Hercules.

I think she was really meant to be the female version of Hercules. Well, in television anyway, not in the real Greek mythology.

I loved watching Xena the Warrior Princess. There was also a Hercules show right?
I love Greek mythology as well, but I just can't connect Xena to it. Maybe I was too young when I watched that show. How does she fit into Greek mythology? Hercules, I know, it's obvious.
Weren't there also an episode where she met Hercules (as in the exact same guy they use in the Hercules show)? I'm not sure if it's just my imagination, or I just got confused with both shows being similar.

Hi swirlz! Yeah, there was a separate show for Hercules, Kevin Sorbo starred as Hercules.
Xena was a warrior princess. She lived in a time when gods and goddesses were worshiped by the people. As a great warrior, Ares the god of war took interest with Xena. He wanted to get back Xena in her warrior ways, murdering and slaughtering people. But of course, Xena never wanted anymore of that. But Ares continued to pursue him. Because of that, Xena became entangled with issues among the gods.
There were also cross over episodes of Xena and Hercules! You're not imagining it.

Oh, I should add that Xena is a fictional character, she's really not a part of the Greek mythology but the settings of the story is based on it.
There was an episode where Xena and Gabrielle encountered Amazon women and they thought Xena was an Amazon. I think Xena was Roman.

Yep. I watched when I was a kid, along with Hercules of course. They were really popular shows in the 90s. I think it's nostalgic to watch these now, at least for a certain generation. The younger people today would never get into Hercules or Xena:) But I think it's okay. These were different times, some shows were slightly campy and the CGI effects were just starting, so they had a certain atmoshpere tot them that no show today can match.

Yeah, I agree! You really can see the lack of special effects or the low tech-ness of the special effects before but it was already amazing back then. The effects on Titans, the flying, the disappearing gods were already convincing.

I don't like Xena the Warrior Princes, but I rememberd something funny. Years ago
my step son, aged about 12 I think, absolutely loved Zena. We had a whole lot of old videos on the Zena series. One day it was metioned to him that Zena was lesbian. He totally freaked out and was very upset.

I thought I never missed any episode of Xena but as I looked at the pictures in the internet, there were so many pictures that I did not recognize.
So I'm watching the series again and I'm just so excited to watch those I was not able to watch before.
Yeah, I'm really fascinated with Greek mythology even before. I had a compilation of every gods and goddesses, immortals and all that are present in the mythology.

I was a big fan of the show which was a spinoff of Hercules and was much better than Hercules. I have two decks of playing cards, one Xena and one Hercules, that I won in some kind of contest they had. I wonder if they are worth something now. It really peaked my interest in New Zealand where it was filmed and I still think I would like to go there some day.

Oh, so it was a spin-off of Hercules? I can't remember which of the two shows came first but I remember watching both regularly. The cross over episodes were so much fun.
I am also interested to the places where they filmed the show. There were a lot of beautiful places! I didn't know it was in New Zealand.

Yes, I remember watching that show all the time, I liked it. I also watched Hercules too, I like watching those kinds of shows or movies back in the medieval times. I think they should show her shows on tv again, I'd watch them.

Xena is about Xena trying to change from being a murderous warrior to a heroic warrior who would even defy gods just to defend the weak.

Same here. I love a lot of mythologies, not just Roman and Greek. I also like the Egyptian mythology and the Nordik mythology and what else mythologies out there. It's just so interesting to read about different gods.

Xena was not a goddess. She was a mortal, an extraordinary warrior. And I don't think she's in the mythology itself. She was just a tv character and the setting of the story was during the time when Greek gods and goddesses were worshiped by people.

Xena is the female version of Hercules right, secret? haha :D I've not really watched it because i dun like the human version of such series. I prefer the cartoons or even comic versions.. hehe
Human versions seems too serious and fake. I can't really link it to the stories i read on comic books.. lol =D

Xena was definitely one of the most beautiful and sexy characters on TV. However, most people often overlook that cute little blonde that used to follow her around. I don’t remember her name on the show, but she was very sexy as well.

Xena Warrior Princess is one of the best series watched over time. This series gives viewers everything better, has plenty of action, adventure, humor, mystery and romance. It has all the attributes to be considered by the public a great show and the female lead of this series can be considered a super hero because he has all the qualities that such a hero should have in his fight for justice . Xena is and will always show in my childhood that I will always follow with pleasure.
