What are your go to meals?

Everyone has meals that they make all the time. When I was first married it was spaghetti because that is what we could afford and I could cook that my Hubby actualy liked. Now I think we do a lot of soups because they are healthy and filling. I need to shake things up a bit and get some new meals in my menu before my family riots.
What are your go to meals and why?

I don“t like to eat the same meals all the time and, I I love to cook, I even turn leftovers into something completly different. My leftovers are something I usually make the same way. I love omelettes, so I turn any sort of leftover (from rice to pasta or veggies) into an omelette. I like to add chives (from my herbs garden) and diced cheese of the kind that melts.

My go to meal would probably be microwave burritos and frozen pizza! I'm not much of a cook, (as you can probably tell), so I need stuff that's really easy. I always by Ellio's pepperoni pizza and just throw it in the oven for 15 minutes. With the frozen burritos, I get a bean and cheese one, then throw on some nacho cheese and salsa. It's only 300 calories!

Im leaning toward frozen burritos tonight just because they are easy. Sometimes I just need the break from the kitchen. We have a pizza place down the street from us that has $5 pizzas and we do that a lot. Way to much really. That $5 adds up. Its always nice to have something simple waiting.

We take a piece of chicken and fry it in some olive oil in the bottom of a saucepan. Once it's cooked, we take it out and slice it thinly. Then we put some cut up veggies, a cup of rice, a can of cream of mushroom soup, and a cup of water into the saucepan. Then we stick the chicken back on top, give it a stir, and cook it on low for 30 minutes.
It's pretty easy, tastes good, and is nice for days when we can't think of anything. It works with other meats too.

We do pasta a lot. Mac and Cheese is one of my kids favorite things and my 11 year old loves it because he gets to make it from start to finish. Pancakes are also a big one in this house. My kids go crazy for breakfast for dinner. We have pancakes several times a month. Usually I make them with scrambled eggs and either bacon or sausage as well, but when money is really tight they get just pancakes.

I'd have to say spaghetti is one of our go to recipes too. We still make it often because it is cheap. For $4 we can feed our family of 5 and have leftovers. Another good go to quick supper for us is hamburger helper. It's cheap and easy to keep on hand.

Spaghetti with meat sauce is certainly one of my go to meals when time is tight. Also chili dogs, quesadillas, Hamburger Helper Lasagnia or hamburgers, or perhaps a stir fry, all of those things are really fast and simple to cook. They are not the most healthiest meals, but better than nothing when time is short. My son also really loves sloppy Joes, So that is always an option too. I also like Shake and Bake for times when I have time but am feeling lazy.
