I just finished chasing rainbows.

Rainbow touches the hills and vineyard - This rainbow was not completely picked up by the camera.

I was about to walk out to my warehouse to pull a book to ship tomorrow. It appeared the sun had come out and I wanted to get out before the rain started again. Before I got off the porch, I saw a lovely rainbow, so I dashed in for my camera, instead, took a couple of pictures, and went back out to go get the book. When I got to the shed that serves as my warehouse, I saw another one in that direction. It was like seeing both ends of a huge rainbow but no middle or top. Got the book and went back for my camera again. The second rainbow was not very big, so I'm only posting the picture of the first one. When I asked my husband, who had gone to the car to get something, to look at the rainbow, he did, and he said it was at sign that God had mercy on him last night as he got safely home.

Well, I have to say that that is a wonderful picture. I like seeing rainbows. I am sure being there in person it must have looked awesome and big. As far a a sign from God, I doubt that very much. It is just nature showing off. I saw a few nice rainbows in my life. But this one that you took is real nice because it is in a perfect setting.

Well, at least technology is god for something. LOL. I have seen my share of rainbows. I remember once, right in my back yard there was a nice big one and it was pretty vivid. It almost looked like you could reach out and touch it. That was years ago and I have not seen one like that since.

inertia, to each his own explanation. This rainbow was nothing out of the ordinary. It seems rainbows in that particular place are pretty weak usually. But I'll settle for any rainbow that I can get. Only the camera caught the weaker second rainbow.

Hi Bagarad!. I love rainbow too . But this day I rarely seeing it. seeing the big rainbow but must quite spectacular. When I read Bruce Olson book about Indian people, they believe rainbow is bridge to heaven. You are lucky you got husband who knew God and believe in them. Its just seem he is so positive and know how to give thanks. I wonder man like him still available at younger one, I am seeking one . Have a nice day for both of you and God bless.

I am believer myself and honestly don't had many chance to meet Christian men beside the one in my church, which is not a lot of option to chose. I am still praying and wait, but patient maybe not my talent. How did you really know he is the one for you?.

There are still plenty of younger Christian men looking for Christian wives. I have actually prayed with one woman many years ago about a husband. A few weeks later they started dating and they now have grandchildren. I know another woman whose husband was murdered. She went to my church, and had two boys who badly wanted a new dad. A mutual friend introduced them and they corresponded for many months, met a few times and finally married. They lived in different parts of the state, so most of their courtship had to be long distance. Finding the right man begins with prayer. God is a great match-maker, but you have to trust him and wait.

I love rainbows. They mean that the world will no longer be destroyed by a great flood and that gives me comfort.

It gives me comfort, too, because sometimes when rain does get started here, you wonder when it will stop. It can go on for days. Of course, we can really use it most of the time.

Too bad it wasn't there to see at 2 AM. But at least he did make that call at 2 AM, so that had to be my rainbow for then.

I did answer every comment that came in on that discussion, but not until after we had a very late breakfast after sleeping in very late. But I did include that line about him in this discussion just for those who may not have seen the rest of the other one where the story is told.

I absolutely love rainbows and I'll try to take pictures of them whenever I see one. This actually started almost six years ago when we were on our way to visit a friend of mine and her newborn son in a city about seventy miles away from us. Since then I've captured many different rainbows. The one that I saw the last time was the oddest though. It hadn't rained anywhere around and you could only see the smallest piece of it. It was also a couple days after a good friend of mine had passed away. I took that rainbow to mean that everything was going to be alright for us after the hardships that we've faced this year.

That is an odd thing. There must have been some moisture in the air somewhere. But, however it got there, I'm glad it spoke a message of comfort to you.

Yup. The rainbow is the sign God gave Noah and his family that he will never again destroy the earth with a flood.

I have a dear myLotfriend in TN, that we end all conversations with "wishing each other rainbows!" One of my favourite things... but there is a hilarious side to this....I was e-mailed a picture of a beautiful rainbow, that looked like it ended ..RIGHT at an "outhouse!"! Not the proverbial "pot of gold" at the end of a rainbow...just an outdoor potty! LOL

That's funny. Rainbows end wherever they please. And those chasing the end of the rainbows will run around forever, since as you move, so does the rainbow.

I love rainbows! A couple of weeks ago it was raining in the daytime and I saw a double rainbow, one of just a few I've seen in my lifetime. It was very clear and brilliant--they are usually rather fuzzy and soft. Funny how rainbows make us feel so blessed and loved. As well they should, I see someone mentioned the Great Flood already. Although they are just a reaction of light and liquid I still think they are gifts from God, the ultimate Scientist.

Scientists merely observe and use and describe what God has created. It's God who is responsible for that reaction of light and liquid.

It's a nice photo and you've catched the rainbow with your camera. It's a pleasant event to see a rainbow. The last time I saw one was a year ago while I was walking the promenade along. It was terrific.

Your topics are so intellectual and out of the world. It sounded like you were reading a fiction novel and were here to discuss about it. Good fun.

The last time I saw a rainbow was on the golf course and I told my chums in the 4-some that it meant one of us would get a birdie on the next hole. We did.

To me every rainbow is beautiful. The most special one I ever saw was when we were on our way home from the courthouse after adopting our two children. We were going to have a celebration that night. On the way home that afternoon, it was drizzling. My little boy, then seven, looked up at the sky and said, " Look, Mom. Two rainbows! One for me and one for Sarah." Indeed, there was a beautiful double rainbow as we looked through the windshield.

Rainbows! Brings back all beautiful childhood memories. I am always in awe of rainbows. They're so beautiful, and though we all know that science behind them, I still love the tales that go with rainbows. The earth is such a magical place. Agree?

Science may explain rainbows, but it doesn't make the ones in the sky. Science can discover and imitate and make use of information and raw materials, but it cannot create something from nothing. They can make flowers if you give them seeds. They can learn to make different kinds of flowers if you give them some flowers to start with. But you can't give them an empty container and tell them to make a flower in it if you give them nothing else to work with. So when I see a rainbow, I see its beauty, but it also represents God's grace to me.

I used a fairly cheap point and shoot Canon Power Shot A1100 IS. I love it. I bought a new camera last weekend that I hope will have a better zoom, and I finally got it charged today. I hope to use it as soon as the rain goes away.
