Miss Manners tells you not to… Some countries say it is rude to do so. How about to answer a call? I really hate it when someone disturbs me when I eat. If ever the phone rings, I wouldn’t be the first one to answer it.

I know that you are not supposed to but I do. I can't help it. It is habit. When I go out for lunch meetings or nice dinners, I try not to, but still find myself doing it.

When I was a kid, my mom made the mistake once of leaving the entire salt container on the table and when I tried to use it, the entire thing dumped onto my plate. Needless to say, that was the last time the salt was left out....
