Arunima Singh @allknowing Actually khichdi is made in every state with little variations and the side dishes that goes with it varies. Pongal ( the salty one) is also a kind of khichdi. We have gujarati and sindhi variety too.

Arunima Singh @allknowing It's the different dals mixed and cooked with rice., something like bisi bell baath in Karnataka. We add loads of veggies ( personal choice) but not tangy tamarind like in bisi belle bath.
