Look at some famous people who have a chronic disease and money cannot help them. So now we know money can't buy everything . Michael J. Fox has Parkinson's disease which is a neurological disorder that affects a person's ability to walk and move. Nick Cannon The host of "America's Got Talent" was diagnosed with lupus after suffering from kidney failure, lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body skin, joints or organs. Kim Kardashian has Psoriasis which is an autoimmune disease, meaning the condition results from the immune system attacking the body's own cells, rather than foreign invaders. Daytime talk show host Montel Williams went public with his diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, a debilitating disease that affects the brain and spinal cord.

If you have money you can get the best treatment and the best medicine and you can travel to another country in order to get help from experts who aren't available in your own country. My friend's brother had a rare disease and there were no treatment options in Denmark. My friend paid for treatment in another country and her brother was cured. Without money this wouldn't have been possible. Unfortunately there are situations where there is no cure at all. No matter how rich you are you can't get cured, and in those cases money doesn't help.

It is very true that money can npot buy a treatment for a cure for a disease if there is no cure yet.

It is, however, a lot easier to be sick and wealthy than sick and poor - especially in the USA.

@boiboing I guess in a sense, with money you're in a better position to afford the best medical facilities and medicines, without ever worrying about how you'll pay the bills. The rich are also able to provide themselves with the most comfortable setups, so that even as they're battling horrible conditions, they're far better off than say someone without money.

We all pay price for receiving more than what was due to us I suppose. Sad about Michael J. Fox though - that can be an extremely painful condition.

Money cannot help certain things. Granted, these people have money to see the best doctors. But that does not mean anything will get better. Money, in reality, is only a means to get by in this life. Nothing more.

If money could buy good health I would be a workaholic. I have never enjoyed good health, but am grateful for being able to get along as I currently do, despite having to take 11 prescription pills per day just to get by. I do think that those of us who struggle, without anyone really realizing it, take more pleasure in the simple things in life and are less lured into the obvious that so many fall trap to.

If a friend of mine had had more money instead of relying on the Welfare system she would not have had to be moved from a good hospital to one that had less help for her profound kidney issues. I believe the lack of money caused her to die earlier and in more pain.

Yes, money cannot buy everything. Even much acclaimed celebrities have their own share of grief by way of dreaded diseases but we must salute them that they do not lose their heart and dither away and keep performing.

Yes, money can't buy everything. With those diseases that are mentioned, these celebrities mentioned are still more fortunate than those poor people with the same disease or disorders since with the money that they have, they are more comfortable compared to those who are poor. As most doctors said and even from books and magazines, stress can trigger our illness. These celebrities lead a life that is stress free or less stress compared to the poor people who are always stressed on how to earn to support them much more to buy medicines for their ailment.

The headline is about what money can't buy. I didn't expect to find only about health. If money can't buy a cure for some kinds of disease, poor people can't get that cure either. Like @jstory07 said, money cannot buy a cure that is not exists yet. There are statuses about what money can buy and cannot buy. I didn't find it in English, but, in Hebrew, but, I'm not the one who thought about it: Money can buy you a house, it cannot buy you a family. Money can buy you a bed, but cannot buy you sleep. (and so on with) can buy you a watch, cannot buy you time. can buy book, but, cannot buy knowledge. the same with status vs respect, blood vs life, woman vs love (money can buy you a woman but, cannot buy you love). It's not my original, it came from someone from facebook and he probably quoted that too... I think the main point is that if someone focuses about getting the money and he thinks that money is everything, maybe he misses the real important things in life and money can't get those things.

Money cannot buy a cure for something that is incurable whether you are rich or poor.

@stringer321 You are still off the topic which is What money can't buy referring to Health..

@Marcyaz That's what I say. Now, don't say incurable, the humanity just hasn't found a cure YET. Money can't buy things that are not exist. My point is different though: If there is a poor man who lives on the street, he maybe has no bed, but, he sleeps well because he doesn't have too many worries. The rich man may have more worries about his money, his things he needs to protect...maybe he doesn't sleep well. My point is that being a good person is very important and money alone can't help to have happy life. Rich man can buy himself a woman but, it doesn't mean she will love him, maybe she will love his money. On the other hand, there may be a poor man who has not much to offer, but, he has a woman who loves him very much, he is there for her, he has good values and behaves like a man. She loves him for what he is.
