Rainbows and promises

I love watching rainbows and I haven't seen one in a long time. When I see one I don't have a camera.. Happens all the time doesn't it.. Thank God for phones we are still armed with something to catch the fleeting moment of beauty and joy.
Sometimes when I see a rainbow I am on the highway and its almost impossible to take a picture with vehicles whizzing past us every second. The other day while we were rushing to the airport , it was raining like crazy and finally there was a let up and the sun suddenly came through. We were already late but this beautiful rainbow did force us to stop even if it was for just a second to get a picture of it.
I am always happy to see a rainbow.. they seem like promises from heaven to me. Have you gotten any decent rainbow pictures? This one isn't great but its something to remember. Do you want to share your picture experience here?

My son just asked me to write out all the rainbow colors, and I just wrote him the list, and he colored it. 
He always likes rainbows, so do I. I always see rainbows when I bring my children to the park nearby. But, my mobile phone is not good at taking photo, so I never take one. Wait until I change to a smart phone, then I will capture it every time I see the rainbow.
I read a story about the birth of a child. The child is an angel, and when it's time the mother was delivering, Mother Angel will hold the little angel's hand and walk through the rainbow bridge, and reach the earth. I have been telling this birthday story to my son since he was 3. I always expand the story, and talk much about the rainbow bridge, so rainbow seems to be the bridge between the earth and the heaven to my children, I suppose.

We saw a pretty double one this last summer. It was like a mirror image. They are lovely.

@TexanTornado I have a couple of pictures but they aren't really bright .. This one seems a bit better.. It always magical to look for rainbows after the rain.

@TexanTornado Do you think the stories about the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow has something to do with the magic.. or its just the beauty of the arch of colors?

its looking very beautiful and also saved it to my laptop.sorry friend i saw rainbow long time ago and at that time phones and camera are least popular.but its a nice felling and if i see next time take picture it and also take selfie with it and make it memorable because this thing not happened daily.

@birjudanak So true.. we don't regard common things as special .. so yes, I am happy to see a rainbow once in a while.

@sofssu if it show everyday then its become common and not special thing but your pic is really awesome and i feel that at that moment atmosphere is very nice and i felt that i miss something.

@BelleStarr The rainbow really holds a magic for us I guess. We were in a tearing hurry and yet we did stop for the rainbow.

@Sheilamarie78 Not really by the time we pulled up on the the side of the road and get a picture the vivid colors had faded bit. I was still happy to get the picture anyways.

I haven't seen a rainbow in ages, sofs... I am not sure if I am just not in the right place at the right time or if it is possible I am overlooking them when they occur around here? (shrug!)
Your picture is still lovely, even if you don't think it is the best one you have seen, hon!

Odd you should comment on the right conditions and place... I live in the Ozarks. This area is touted as THE place to be to catch rainbows... (I was looking something else up and came across that suggestion on Wikipedia a little while ago.)

Oh, that's a nice shot! What do I feel when I see a rainbow? I feel hope. Hope that despite the rain, there is always the bright sun to come. Just like in life. Even if there seems to be an endless array of trials & failures, there is always a hope that these will come to an end too.
