Because I mentioned that Jesus actually isn't a Christmas Baby? Did that perhaps threaten your entire life and way of thinking? I know, I know...how dare I use facts and stuff... But don't worry, I know not to bother you anymore. *wanders off to look for more people to annoy*

Jake, I'm a Christian and I've always known that Jesus wasn't a Christmas baby. Doesn't bother me at all when people discuss things like that. I think open discussion about things like that helps us all to better understand the world around us.

Some of the 'religious' stuff is not even that. The facts are often way off. But, some don't want to know the truth.

Boy did you get that right @PatZAnthony I sometimes wonder if people post religious stuff to start arguments. Dad always said to keep discussions about religion in the family cuz lots of folks won't think the same way.

Some people think their better/smarter than everyone else, since I know who your referring to I have to say that is the case here.

I decided to skip all the religious posts, but those who insist to do, should also accept the comments and the opinions of others. Look around and strike again.

You are right. If we post something, we should allow the comments of others to remain.

@PatZAnthony I fully agree, but I have seen several deleting some of the comments, so that the replies to the previous comments sometimes make no sense at all.

No, he wasn't a Christmas baby. He wasn't a "Christian," either...he was a Jewish rabbi. Coincidentally, this time of year, according Scripture (John 10), he was celebrating Chanukkah. What's that quote from A Few Good Men: "You can't handle the truth!!!" Some people just can't.

I'm not surprised your comment got deleted. Christian Fundamentalists tend to get all bent out of shape when I try t explain the 4th Century origins of the Christ Mass to them.

Disturb the comfortable. Comfort the disturbed. But, don't confuse people with facts. How odd that some really don't want the truth entering their space.

Many people appear to want to believe whatever they think is true, and when the truth is told to them, they take offense to it

because of the time of year and whatnots? yeah, that amuses me. I believe, if I remember correctly, that time got chosen by one of the catholic pope's to basically steal a major pagan holiday, they figured if they made their holidays familiar they could, for all intents and purposes, assimilate yule and stuff. go Borg!

No one knows the exact date Jesus was born, but the important thing is to celebrate his birth, life, and resurrection. Don't get distracted by the details.

That's because no one seems to know, so they co-opted a pagan celebration and imprinted it with Christianity

Next you're going to be telling us that the way we celebrate Christmas was borrowed from pagan celebrations in ancient Rome or something like that... sheesh.
