Merry Christmas everyone, and thanks for a year of enjoyable conversations and incredible riches.
It also happens to be the first day of Hanukkah, so happy Hanukkah to my Jewish friends here.
I think I heard on the radio that this is the first time in something like 40 years that Christmas Eve and the first evening of Hanukkah have fallen on the same day.
I have neither a Christmas tree nor a menorah here, so I just lit a single candle last night to help me reflect on the true meaning of both religious traditions.
Funny that it basically comes down to: have respect for something bigger than we can comprehend; be kind to others; don't get caught up in materialism, etc.
Eh, too serious. Carpe Diem! Hope everyone has a good time today and over the rest of the Holidays!

@TheHorse This one, in any of its versions, has to be one of my favourite pieces of Yuletide music or song: Carol of the Bells.

The pairing of Christmas and Hanukkah makes this a very special year, indeed. I celebrate Christmas and although I'm alone for much of the day I enjoy it immensely. I did not even have to bake a birthday cake this year as my DIL brought home a piece of strawberry/vanilla layer cake that we will use for the happy birthday song later.
I'm happy to hear you're having a good day and appreciate your sentiments of the holidays. I hope the rest of your day brings happiness that you'll remember always!

Thank you for the interesting discussions and the willingness to jump in and keep me from drowning when I get too far into the deep waters, pony!

That is interesting about Christmas and Hannukah must be of serious significance. Hope your New Year will be happy and healthy.
