Two Cakes and Eight Dozen Cookies!

I rose at 5:30 this morning, had my coffee and watched the weather report for today. Looks good so far.
When Little Miss woke at 6:15, she had breakfast and I hooked her up with Paw Patrol.
Then I was off and running to the kitchen.
After the cookies were baked, I started the cakes. Just finished them. Now to relax for a minute and get ready to roll.
Hopefully they will make it to our destination in one piece.

@Courtlynn this is the recipe I use, but I do not add the peanuts.
Graham cracker crumbs, sweetened cream cheese, crushed pineapple, and maraschino cherries are layered with whipped topping in this easy no-bake dessert.

@ElusiveButterfly I love anything banana so your banana cake certainly sounds delicious. Of course I wouldn't turn down a piece of the strawberry one either

I do my best baking at the last minute. I am the queen of procrastination!
The weather cooperated and we were blessed with a beautiful day! We were the last to leave and had a good time sitting in the garage and watching the storm.

I would have done the baking a few days earlier had Little Miss not been so needy. I really don't know how I did this years ago when I had 4 kids to chase after.

Those look like some mighty fine sweets you got there! I need to find out where you're going with those things and follow you there! haha
I baked a dozen chocolate chip cookies last night to take into work today to share with my staff, but unfortunately my sweet tooth got the best of me and I ate them all last night!

If I had baked a batch of chocolate chip cookies in the days leading up to the reunion, my husband would have made a hefty dent in them. I would have had to bake another batch. Best to wait until the last minute.

@LadyDuck Took a little bit of thinking before the idea came to me. The basket came in handy to transport food back too. Brought home a whole watermelon that didn't get eaten.

I placed a heavy towel inside one of my laundry baskets. Duct tape held the covers to the desserts in place. I put the cakes in the laundry basket and wrapped them with the towel. The cookies fit inside a box that I had brought home to pack some junk in. Served well as a cookie carrier!
They arrived safe and sound and not one crumbled!

They were a hit. My sister-in-law was disappointed that she didn't get one of the cookies. They went fast.

We had a family reunion and the cookies were a hit. They went fast. I thought the cakes wouldn't get eaten, but after a while, they too went fast.
