Does your cat suffer from 'hole-in-the-bowl' syndrome?

This is a serious disease that affects many felines.
Upon seeing the bottom of the bowl, the cat becomes convinced it is getting ready to starve to death regardless of how much food is actually left in the bowl.
This can result in incessant mewling, meowing, crying, and howling by the affected cat until its servant either:
A) Puts more food in the bowl
or
B) Arranges the bowl so the food is evenly distributed
It is thought that nearly 75% or more cats suffer from this deadly affliction.

At least he doesn’t have one kibble syndrome. That precious little skunk head in my profile picture loved the cheese kibbles in her dry dog food, to the exclusion of chicken and beef. So, she picked the cheese out and left the rest.

@JolietJake — make certain Scar doesn’t read that comment. Don’t want to give him any ideas......

He's not as bad as he used to be about it, but he still will sit there waiting for more food sometimes

Nope, our cats never suffered from this 'hole in the bowl' feline disease. Yet, my friend Pam has a very small breed of dog, that picks out all the 'chicken nuggets' in her dog dish. This little critter loves the yellow chicken chunks of dog food, while the other colors she never touches 'em. Maybe Scar has a preferred color(taste) also! They really are different flavors, those kibble and bits. My son did the same thing, left all the peas or beans on his plate.

We had a cat who would eat 3 of the 4 colors of cat food, but left that one color in the bowl.

@1creekgirl They are so smart! Our one dog chose to leave anything green, peas, green beans, even green dried dogfood chunks.

Scar won't eat the food that has touched the sides of his bowl!

I'm just glad He finally got over needing to have the bowl 'freshened up' after every 3-4 bits

Oh yes, Mr. Lister definitely suffers from this affliction! He has PETA's number on speed dial for support (and to report us for maltreatment) when he is affected by this.

Next time try in a short bowl with the same quantity. But never tell my name to Scar.

Yes indeed and I have one of them @JolietJake . It's like seriously?? I'll reach into the bowl and shift everything from the outer side into the middle and then she's happy. Her name is Topo Gigio; does that say anything?

Ours yowls for food then races ahead of me to the empty bowl and seems puzzled that I have not somehow flown over his head and prepared his meal in a split srcond. Then he watches me filling the bowl and yowls incessantly, even though he can see that I am doing it for him. Sometimes he even breaks off from eating to have a further howl (unless that's some sort of strangulated 'Thank you!')

Yes, cats do have a thing about fresh food. They will stick their nose up at what's left in the bowl and pitch a fit until fresh Friskies from the box.

I have found if I pick the bowl up and act like I add food, he'll usually fall for it...but for God's sake don't tell him
