You know it's time to visit the Dollar Store when...

* You blow your nose on a strip paper towel in the bathroom and then leave it on the back of the toilet so you'll have something to wipe your tush with next time you visit * You shampoo with dish soap. * You file your fingernails with 150 grit sandpaper * You reach for a sponge in the kitchen and it crawls away Did I miss anything? Back in half an hour.

I hope I don't get distracted by things like el-cheapo precision screwdrivers and forget to get paper towel and toilet paper (and sponges).

LOL, Those descriptions are awesome! I have actually did the shampoo thing before, and dish wash was also washing liquid for the laundry. Now"git gone" to the dollar store. You need toilet paper, nose tissue and paper towels badly!

And may be you plan to have Rice for lunch since two days and rice is not there at house, and things like Turmeric powder, Asofoetida(Hing) (used a lot in India) and such small yet important things are not there.

@aureliah At least when I use toilet paper for a coffee filter, it has not previously been used as a hankie (or for other purposes). I've heard of bat guava coffee but have never tried it. And won't.

Computer paper does not work as toilet paper. But thin strips of paper towel do (and don't plug the toilet). I've never tried corn cobs.

@TheHorse As kids we had an 'outhouse' and at that time all we had to use was magazines. Shiny, slippery; what a pain in the butt. Never did the corn cobs but it probably would have been softer and more absorbent than the dang magazines.
