Can you survive without technology?

I know *I* sure couldn't.
It sounds like a simple thing when you first think about it.
Cell phones, computers, so on and so forth.
Bu then stop and consider...a sharpened stick to hunt for food is a type of technology.
Building a shelter is a type of technology.
Making clothing...be it from animal skins or plants...is a type of technology.
Sure, you can probably find a natural cave to live in...maybe eat fruits or other plants growing naturally...perhaps even kill an animal with your bare hands for food.
But cooking is technology.
And how will you skin the animal to eat it raw if you don't use a knife...or some other tool...which is technology.
Man would likely soon wither and die without the use of any kind of technology.
Technically speaking.

@andriaperry We have Amish around our community. They are self sufficient and appear to be so contented in their lives! Their children are quiet, very well behaved.

An interesting question to ponder. Of course, without technology I wouldn't have seen this!

I am not obsessed with technology, and I think I can survive without it, but it will be hard.

Then technically, it is about definition of said technology. Can we survive with simpler technology of spinning a vinyl disc as opposed to downloading to iPod.

Have we? Or not? Some say God supplied our food, etc in the beginning...

I know I couldn´t. But I could survive without part of the technology. I could survive without cellphones or tablets (if I had normal phones).
I need not only water, but also electricity. And from there, the list gets big.

I wouldn't even want to go back in time 100 years or more and not have all the technology we have now. I'd love to see what the future brings though

Yes it all is tech but usually when we think tech in the year 2018 we think something that needs power, computers for the most part.
I could live primitive because I can grow food and if I had to kill an animal for food. I can build and I can barter ( I am all woman
) because I can preserve foods too.
Unlike NJ I could be Amish.
But I would so miss mylot and coffee everyday.

Well, now since I am all alone the thought has popped up. I mean I get through my day working on my PC and my nights watching movies and stuff. Now if there was no technology what would I be doing. Sitting and reading or sewing or something all day and then at night sitting by candlelight until I fall asleep. Not much of a life in my way of thinking. Now at least I do have an online life.

And farming is technology, how would those animals survive without foods that are grown in the soil?

By eating the plants that grow naturally...they'd just be skinnier

@JolietJake Actually, cavemen didn't farm, they just knew where to find foods they needed. I wonder how they discovered fire, to cook things and to stay warm.
