Mini horses and have a great holiday/Christmas/whatever

There is no market for the ponies and she is selling the geldings really cheaply. I was very tempted!! Hope your Christmas is a great one.

@JudyEv We are relaxing at home, the kitty of our neighbors is with us, they have been skiing for three days.

@LadyDuck The kitty will be pleased to have some company. Adult cats are more resilient but I think the young ones like a bit of company

So they're about the size of a bull mastiff @JudyEv ?

They are about 15 to 20 inches at birth so that is pretty small. There was a pretty little skewbald (brown and white) there too that was about the same age and height.

@JudyEv was raining here till just after lunch. Sun shining now. About 23c. Those having BBQ S tonight should be fine.

Thanks for the good wishes. Shetlands are great little ponies aren't they although sometimes they are full of mischief.

@dgobucks226 People treat them like dogs or playthings instead of treating them like horses and making sure they respect humans.

@JudyEv Dwarf horses! They look very nice. They were obtained by natural selection ? I had my Christmas dinner with champagne, but I have been reasonable to have also my lunch with champagne today.

They are 15 to 22 inches at birth and around 36 inches when full-grown. Thanks for the good wishes and I hope you have a very merry Christmas too (but not too merry - merry here can been tipsy or slightly drunk).

@topffer Perhaps you should return home to France now what with the tsunami being so near Christmas Island! I think the mini horses had a fair bit of help through line-breeding, in-breeding and other not-so-natural means.

@JudyEv I have a Jewish co-worker that I wish a Merry Christmas to every day I see her. She used to get so mad at me for doing it, but now it's like our own little inside joke, and she always laughs now when I say it to her. But now I can just say to her "Happy Everything" and we can have a laugh about that one too! When I was at Disney World on Christmas Eve, we were in the Epcot theme park, and in the back they have a huge section called World Showcase. There, they have areas that represent many countries from around the world, and the workers in each of those areas are brought in from the countries they represent. We had dinner reservations in Morocco, and when I checked in with the hostess, she wished me a Merry Christmas. I responded back to her with a "Happy El id," which is their Muslim winter holiday. She was surprised that I knew. I then also wished her a Merry Christmas in return, and then jokingly said, "Sorry, I know that you don't celebrate Christmas." She then told me that she does celebrate Christmas, and many Moroccans also celebrate due to the French influence on their culture.

That's a great idea for a cake. All-inclusive. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas too. We are off shortly to share a meal with family.

My sister and nephew have several breeds of dwarf goats and they are super cute. They are just so playful and spend half their day skipping and jumping all over the place.

Thanks for the good wishes. Yes, Christmas is a good excuse to have some delicious food. Cherries have just come into season here and we are taking a big bagful to share with others.

Thanks and yes, the lass did very well. It is a big logistical exercise to float a horse right across Australia and keep it fit and well.

Yes, she was tucking in. There was a second filly foal but I couldn't get a decent photo of the two of them.

And now for us we are heading towards the end of Boxing Day. Sometimes the days go very fast don't they?
