I left him there

Bob's program for today was to have an outpatient surgical look see of his plumbing fixtures. Otherwise known as a cystoscopy. The plan was that the doctor would look at the prostate as he went through and take images of the inside of the bladder along with some samples to biopsy. The information gained would likely confirm a diagnosis of radiation cystitis. It will be treated with hyperbaric oxygen. Then, the doctor would also determine what, if anything needed to be done in relation to the prostate--which has been radiated due to Bob having cancer. Well, Doc did look at and take biopsy tissue from the bladder. He also discovered that one lobe of the prostate (I did not know they had lobes) was way way way too big and had likely been the source of much of Bob's issue for the last nine months. So the doc resected it (I think that means cut it). Because Bob wanted the prostate taken care of if needed, and because he already had done with out food and gone under general anesthesia, it got taken care of today. Much better than having him come back in a week or so to do it all again. Anyway, they will keep him a day or two to make sure he is healing well. He wants to come home tomorrow but that is not the usual protocol. I will be lucky if I get him back for Valentine's Day. I came home before dark. I have been e mailing people and on the phone forever with my older sister. That is the story of my day. Hope you have had a good one. I will also be gone much of tomorrow just keeping him company.

I know he wants to be home, but it's probably good for you to just get time to catch up on everything that needs doing, plus plain 'ol rest.

It feels pretty good. I have not done a thing except talk to family and friends, and eat and snack and then I will go to bed.

I'm glad that the doctor found out what he suspects has been causing the problem.

Prostate is divided into five lobes. I am glad that the doctor discovered the problem, may be it's the end of your husband problems.

It looks like it could well be. The doctor took the catheter out today, and Bob is able to urinate. Now comes healing time.

Thank you so much. He wants to feel good again and have fun, and do things and not worry that he may send himself to the hospital.

It is nice to be dealing with someone who knows what he is doing and gets it done. I still would like him to have the hyperbaric oxygen because it is so good for so many things. It helps damaged tissue heal all over.

It actually went well. Of course we had sunshine and that helps me immensely. Then I found a good parking place, what an encouragement.
