Yesterday's Cheat Day

I'm certain with Easter and the holiday season, everyone indulged more than usual. So, did I. Though, I'm surprised I didn't have any sweets or chocolate. Not even a beautifully designed hard-boiled egg. My cheat day consisted of dairy. My daughter-in-law made cheesy broccoli and I had a little milk with the meal. I haven't had cheese or milk in almost two years. I'm still not in the mood for anything sweet. I will say, the dress I wore yesterday was a happy surprise. I tried it last year, and it was still tight across the chest and sleeves. This year it was a comfortable fit, and I got a lot of compliments on it. One person even said I always dress well. That compliment was a complete surprise, as I never considered myself as someone who always dresses well. Okay, yes, but nothing that would give that kind of compliment. My friend told me during rock painting the last time we painted rocks, that she could tell I've lost weight. The scale doesn't agree, but she said it's redistributing itself. The dress proves it. How did you do with the sweets and holiday celebrations yesterday? Thanks for reading.

It's been a while for me too. I'm glad you haven't seen the need for them either.

I told you the dress was pretty! It is always nice when something slips on easily. I cheated all over the place, but lost 2/10ths of a pound. I think the scale is broken. That baby is just asking for her cheeks, arms, and legs to be munched on and gobbled up!!!! She is so adorable.

@just4him Weight fluctuates every day, but I'm a glutton for punishment. I like to weigh in every day. I can't even get my knee to my mouth.

@DianneN I stopped trying that when my bones started to protest. I've been weighing myself more. Not every day, but I'm trying to lose one more pound, and then I'm going to try to keep it going down and break through the barrier I've been on for the past four months. I haven't lost anything this year.

Thank you. 2/10s isn't too bad, at least it's a loss. Sometimes I think mine is broken too. Thank you. Yes, she is. She does like to chew on her toes.

A friend made me homemade Chex Mix Party Mix! Other than the chocolate eggs she included, not too unhealthy.

I must agree with your friends. You wore a pretty dress. It fits you well. The sweets i have taken is coffee. Nothing else. I also drink cold chocolates. Is that your granddaughter? She is adorably cute!

That is awesome. Well, I ate some of a large Reese's Peantbutter filled rabbit..but that was all the Easter candy. I did have a small piece of chocolate cake with Easter dinner, and a small slice of pie..but generally, I didn't overeat.

If the weight is redistributing itself and people are complimenting you, then it's all good.

Yes, it is. With the sleeves fitting better, I tried on a hoodie I bought for Christmas 2 years ago. It should fit according to the size, but the sleeves were very tight and the first time I tried it on I couldn't get it past my head. I tried it today and found I can get it on. The sleeves are still tight, but not like they were. I should be able to wear it by Christmas this year.

I dont think i could go two years without milk or cheese. But i have gone a few days to a week without, a few different times. Was weird. Lol. But then i grew up having two gallons a day, until about 2 years ago. I only had a few chocolate chip cookies, two small bag of cheetos, and mac n cheese yesterday.

I always drank milk as a kid and even when my kids were living with me. It wasn't until I changed from whole milk to 2% that I started drinking less milk, also when the price went way up for it. The milk I drink now, cashew or almond milk, is even better for you than regular cows milk.

@just4him We've only ever had whole milk, and the 1 or 2% the schools would give, but we hardly drank that.

I didn't do too bad at the holiday brunch....had some potatoes and an egg....my trouble was the jello eggs. My aunt makes them every year and they are so good! I hope you enjoyed the meal, and don't feel bad about having dairy after going so long without it! Almost 2 years without it is amazing! The dress does look very nice!

I was actually very good over Easter. I did not have any eggs of my own. My eldest son share some chocolate with me but that was all the chocolate I had. I didn't indulge in anything I shouldn't have. Well, I did have a few ciders and went out for one meal but I didn't go overboard.

We indulged on Saturday. Yesterday was a pretty normal food day. I am not losing, and it is my own fault. I do not think I am redistributing, either.

Almost two years on this food program and I don't have any desire for sweets. When I do, there is a recipe I altered to make a healthy sweet.
