New Strategy

Okay, I stepped on the scale a couple of days ago and was not happy. This healthy eating person is gaining instead of losing and that is not going to work for me. I need knee replacements in both knees and they won't do it unless I lose the weight. So, after swimming this morning, I went into the fitness center and started busting my thighs on the leg press machine. I did 50 reps on it. I could have stopped at 30 and really wanted to but I pushed through to 50. Yes, I'm feeling it right now. However, those thighs have to go. I've put up with them for far too long. I've also determined I'm not stepping on the scale again until my birthday next month. If I could go a month when I was faithful to doing so for Whole30, then I can do it again. I'm still faithful to Whole30, it's just not been faithful to me. So, that's my new strategy. In the fitness center busting thighs. If it gets rid of the belly too, that will make me happier. I need to leave for a few minutes, but I won't be more than half an hour. I'll see you when I return to tackle more of these notifications that keep piling up in my inbox. How are you this morning/evening? Thanks for reading.

You might try cutting back on calories too. Any food will cause weight gain if you are eating too much of it

My friend at the pool has recommended the HAM diet. I'm considering it. It would definitely cut everything in half. She said she lost a lot when she did that.

@just4him I haven't heard of that diet. Make sure you let us know about it if you try it.

Your body may have adapted to Whole 30. You may want to try something like Weight Watchers. What does your doctor say?

@just4him You don't have to eat bread..that is the beauty of WW you can customize it to you as long as you stay in your points range.

@snowy22315 I would need to customize it without chicken. Most of their meals are chicken based. No, I don't like Weight Watchers. I never did even before it was points.

I haven't talked to my doctor. I looked at Weight Watchers before I started Whole30 and it didn't interest me. Now, with all the bread and other foods I've had out of my diet for two years, I don't want to go back to those foods.

I agree with @snowy22315, the body adapts to a diet, in fact the Whole 30 is not supposed to last more than a month.

@just4him I do not know what to suggest. I usually count my calories and reduce the portions when I want to lose some pounds.

Yes, but you can keep going with it, which is how I lost the 37 pounds, to begin with. Now, I need to lose again and don't know what to do. I'm not going back to an unhealthy eating lifestyle.

The belly is very hard to lose.Look at your age this is a difference. You do not lose fast at your age.Aging slows down. This happens to most of us.I do not worry about it.I know my limit Do not be too hard on yourself

When I see the scale going up, I worry about it. I gave away all my big clothes. I'm not going to buy them again. I need to keep losing.

Sounds like you've reached a plateau with the Whole30. Maybe you need to shake things up a bit by trying something new for a week or two? Kudos to you for busting those thighs on the press machine.

I am good, thanks. I have mowed and mowed this week. I finished by about ten this morning. Do you get enough sunlight/vitamin D? That is supposed to help with weight loss. Good luck with the thigh machine. I have a "gravity rider" in my backyard that I try to get on regularly. It really helped stretch my back out when it was sore. My newest doctor only wants to schedule six month appointments, and I had gained the last time. She said it was no wonder while hubby was ill and I was stressed but it is time to take care of me again. My next appointment is the day before Thanksgiving. I hope to have my a1C, weight, and cholesterol in good shape.

A change in exercise should help. But sometimes you need to change your diet around some too.

@just4him Taking it away now should help. When I have gained because of not eating good then went back to eating right it has seemed to help get even more off. Wishing you luck.

I know in the past month I have had more sugar than this body is used to. That helped tip the scales. I thought it would help tip them in my favor because I was doing something different. My body missed that cue.

@wolfgirl569 Thanks. I need to do something. I've been watching something for the past couple of weeks. I didn't pay attention to it with my eggs month when my finances were a mess due to the car. However, I'm finding when I eat mostly eggs and fruit, my headaches are absent. When I throw in other foods, they're back. I had a salad yesterday along with my eggs and woke up headache less this morning and it felt great. I have a feeling I need to take more food out of my diet.
