19 Cents Richer Today

Don't you just love it when money just kind of finds you? I mean, I could say I found IT. But it seems more fun when I think maybe the money knew I would be a good home and it just lead me right to where it was.
I pulled into a Quick Trip on my way to the hotel room to pick up some beer, and for whatever reason, this time I decided to park by the dumpster. I have been to this Quick Trip before and I generally park in nearly the same place unless I am getting gas.
I walked into the store and right at the door there was a penny lying on the ground. I bent and picked it up and stuffed it into my pocket.
Going around to the passenger side of the truck to put my beer into my little cooler, I found a pile of change lying on the ground. 8 pennies and a dime. Of COURSE I scanned the area a bit more to see if I had missed anything.
I picked all of that money up and put it into my pocket.
That money found ME. I swear it. And now I am 19 cents richer. Woohoo! Not that I am going to get rich off that or anything. But not a penny of that found money will be spent. It will go into my jar and eventually into the bank.
I swear I find money all the time and it just tickles me every time I do. I often wonder how many people pass it up. "Ah, heck. Just a few pennies. Not worth my time." It can't have just fallen there.
I never say that, and I will go to great lengths to get it all into my pocket for sure.

I do like when money does find me but does not happen very often. You really had a lucky day. When you go to Quick Trip do you always find money? That is nice that you want to hang on to what you find. Do you get interest on it when you put it in the bank? So how much do you need to have in your jar before you put it in the bank?

I always find money, but not always at Quick Trip. If I put the money into investments or into the bank I do indeed receive interest or dividends on it. Like even more free money when you think about it.
I have a weird system when it comes to my coin jars. I essentially buy the coins back with cash, put that into a separate envelope, use the coins in various ways, and then reverse the cash back into my cash reserves envelope and put the amount into savings from the spending budget left in the checking account.
I am complicated.

I always pick up small change. I was brought up to be thrifty.

Awesome! Cents add up to dollars as my friend's grandma used to say.
I love finding coins. I think they're from my own grandparents. Pennies from heaven they say

The dime was a sure bonus. I know a lot of people say don't pick up the tails up ones, they are supposedly bad luck.I never follow that rule. A tails up penny left on the ground is one cent I don't have. My luck is perpetually bad anyway, so I might as well pick up whatever I can.

I like it when I find change on the ground, even if all it is is a shiny penny. I will admit I do not always pick up a penny. Last week hubby found a quarter in the subway. He bent down to pick it up and ripped his pants' pocket. He regretted bending picking it up.

I always pick up the money I find in the street, no matter if it's just a cent.

Saw an episode of the A-Team where Murdock won a load of money on a slot machine and when he went outside he threw a handful down on the floor. Maybe that's what it was!!
