Well, I hope everyone had a nice holiday season. Our Christmas and New Year's was quiet - just the two of us.
What do you think about what's been going on at the White House lately? I think strong measures are called for to solve the problem.
The other house - due to that second leak I wrote about, the plumber came and fixed the leaks, as you know. We are just waiting for the drywall guy to have time to come and look at the damage to the ceiling downstairs. As usual, he's backed up with work.
Our little housekeeper is in the quarantine period for COVID-19. She should be ready to go back to work soon; but we haven't heard from her.
Yesterday I had a routine checkup at my PCP; and then we went out to dinner at Longhorn. I was surprised because the place was packed. We were as careful as could be; and we enjoyed a nice dinner.
We have been watching the webcams from the Florida Keys and hope that we will be able to take our belated 50th Anniversary trip down there later this year.
Have you received your COVID-19 vaccine yet? We expect ours will be available soon since we are both over 70. (Yikes! When did THAT happen?!!!)
Nothing else going on here at the Lake Erie shores. The s**w is still melting from that big s**wstorm that we had. 71 days until spring!

Hubby will be able to get his soon from what they say of the planned roll out. I have a few weeks yet before I can.

I've noticed that around here, other than people wearing masks, life is back to normal. Everything is open, all the stores and restaurants and roads are crowded, and nobody seems to care anymore that we are still in a pandemic. And the only reason everyone still seems to be wearing masks is because it's mandatory here. Funny how life works that way.
I'm not sure when I'll get my covid vaccine. They seem to be going awfully slow in getting it distributed. Right now, they're still trying to vaccinate all our healthcare workers before moving on to the general public.

@moffittjc I found out that there is no COVID-19 in the vaccine. My husband can receive his on January 25; and I can get mine on February 1. We will probably go together in February.

I am sorry for your little housekeeper, I hope she is fine. All restaurants are closed here, no way we can eat in a restaurant and they will stay closed until the end of February. The vaccine is distributed to elders in nursery homes and the nurses who assist them right now. I LOVED Key West and the Florida Keys.

We want to move to the Keys; but it's too expensive anymore. Our little housekeeper is fine. They are just waiting out the quarantine period.

@LindaOHio My husband loved so much Key West that he thought he could buy a house there and move there... I was against because of the hurricanes.

Hubby went to the rally and he was by the Capitol when this went down. He said that many, including him and his friends, got tear gassed. Thankfully, they were ok. What puzzles me is this... where was all the security? Why weren't they prepared to deal with what went down and prevent it from happening?

I'll get it if necessary...don't care either way. My husband says he won't and that Eli shouldn't. Just whatever ends all of this nightmare.... Glad you got to enjoy the meal at Longhorn. It's odd that some places seem to be fully open, yet some fast food places you can still only get drive through/take out.
