Don’t count your kids too soon

When the bushfire threatened my sister and nephew’s place, they evacuated over 80 goats to a safe place. Five of the dwarf Nigerian does were heavily in kid. Now they are all safely home again and two of the does have had their babies.
Our nephew posted on FB that the two had each had twins. However, later he posted again, to say that the next time he checked the does, one had had two more kids so twins for one and quads for the other.
Aren’t they just the cutest?
The photo is my nephew’s. Used with permission

OMG!
Can you imagine how big the one that gave birth to quads must have been? Talk about being the size of a barn!

@JudyEv I feel sorry for them... Can you imagine how miserable they must feel?

@DaddyEvil Fair enough but they never look miserable. The does were bright-eyed and bushy-tailed when we saw them on Monday.

They are adorable. I love the fuzzy headed one that is facing left and has the ears down.

@wolfgirl569 I wonder if the ear with straighten out? I should think it would.

@DocAndersen The logistics during the fire would have been something else. 300 horses were moved to one area and another area had over 100. Then there were donkeys, alpacas, sheep, goats. It must have been mayhem for a while.

Quads sound like a huge burden for a mom of any sort, except maybe a cat or dog.

That's true but, with these, the kids are always taken off the mothers and hand-reared.
