Late

I can count on one hand and have three fingers left over the number of times I was late for church. I can count on one hand and have three fingers left over the number of times I was late when the clocks changed and both times were daylight savings time. I can count on one hand and have three fingers left over that it had nothing to do with daylight savings time.
The first time I was late, I was on my computer, writing since I wasn't part of a blogging community yet. I changed the clocks the wrong way. When I looked at the VCR and saw the time, I panicked and rushed out of the house and hurried to church. Fortunately then, I lived a mile from the church and didn't miss more than the first song. Today, I thought I still had a half-hour before I needed to leave. I dawdled. I got up at my usual time, well it would have been usual had it been regular time. I was still up when I needed to be for my medication. I got my shower then worked the notifications. I even played a game of solitaire when I finished and put more pieces in the puzzle behind me before I looked at my watch. It was 8:30. Church starts at 9 and I'm 20 minutes from the church. I still needed to brush my teeth, get my shoes on and get out of here.
I was five minutes late, but I didn't miss the first song.
Late isn't in my vocabulary. I don't know how people who are always pushing the late button can do it. I'd be stressed all the time and might have a few speeding tickets to boot. I'm usually half an hour early for church or anywhere I need to be. I don't like rushing, though you wouldn't know that if you rode in the passenger seat. I'm always pushing the speed limit. It's a good thing I can go five over and not worry about a ticket.
What about you? Are you early or pushing the late button and arriving right when you need to be there? Thanks for reading. The image has nothing to do with the post. It does belong to me.

I know we're all thrown off today by the time change.
I was just thinking this morning of a family from my church when I was younger... they thought they were arriving late to church, but they were actually an hour earlier than they realized because of the time change (Daylight Savings Time had just ended). I remember the mom was so excited because they hadn't missed any of the service!

I can't stand to be late anywhere. I prefer to be early. I get to work half an hour before I'm supposed to clock in and sit in the break room, reading and eating 'breakfast' whatever time of day it is.
I get to the doctor's office half an hour early and sit in the reception area and read while waiting for them to call my name.
When I woke up this morning, I noticed my phone time didn't agree with my headboard clock time, so the fishies got fed late. They didn't know I was late though.

Pretty said she thought about putting some of the fishies into my bed to wake me up on time but didn't in case I squished one of them. She's mean!

I hate being late to anything. I am always early wherever I go. I have a friend who is late to everything. He drives me crazy. I'll tell him meet me somewhere at 9:00. Which means I'll be there at 8:45. He'll show up at 9:30.

@just4him I agree. Plus, when you're early, you get to pick the best seat!

@moffittjc Yes. When I walked in, I didn't know where to sit. My seat was taken. I found the row across from them, empty, and took it. It felt strange sitting in a different spot.

I'm on time, usually 1/2 hour early like you. When I DO run late for some reason, it kills me! I'm humiliated, walking in late
One time, Jay and I entered the front entrance of our church. Everyone was flowing out of the sanctuary, giggling when they saw us coming in! We didn't spring ahead, the night before:(

@kobesbuddy I'm sure you did if everyone was leaving as you arrived.

Sorry to hear that you were late....it does happen! That's good that you do what you can to usually be places early. I am one of those procrastinators or those that arrive late. I try not to, but I am not good at figuring out what time to leave and be places on time. I don't like to be early because I would feel awkward.

@just4him I know from their house it is about a 5 minute drive (they live a block from each other). But if it is anywhere else, I don't do as well lol

I tend to be early. I do not like to rush for anything, though. I wake up early, without trying.

I hate being late and I'm always early for everything. My SIL was always late for everything. It got to the point where we had to tell her that everything was an hour earlier so she would almost be on time

I've heard of people using those tactics to get late arrivals on time. It's better to be early.
