Playing In Three States

I have some Powerball tickets. Three to be exact at the moment. All for Saturday's drawing currently worth a cool $200 million.
Not that having three tickets will increase my odds by all that much. The odds are typically 1 in 293 million. So, this only makes MY odds 3 in 293 million. Woohoo!
But, being that I am traveling for work, I can at least take advantage of playing the Powerball in multiple states.
I have one from Wisconsin, one from Iowa, and one from Illinois.
Not that that increases my odds either. The odds are the same no matter where I have my ticket from. But I like to think I've spread out the opportunity a little bit.
Mind games, really. But what the hell.

Good luck, and I hope you win. Just remember us small people when you're $200 million richer!

@porwest I like to play but I am aware that I will not get any money that way.

@marguicha It's a pipe dream, for sure, to win. But as I always say, someone has to, and it can't be me if i don't play...so, I play.

If your ticket is a winner that you bought in a state where you don't live do you have to go back to that state to cash it or can you do it in your home state?

@porwest So if you play Powerball, for example, you still have to cash your winnings in the state you bought it even though this lottery is in many states?

@lovebuglena Yep. Exactly. I think it has mostly to do with taxes and state law around lotteries and things like that.

Love that cartoon.
Well, to be fair. It was a work trip, so the boss paid for all of the gas. And I only spent $6 on the tickets. My trip made me far more money than that in terms of my hourly wage plus my commissions. So, even if I lose on all three tickets...
I am still more than a head... or ahead. Whichever.

What blew my mind is that you have to turn in a winner in the state is was bought in, can be an issue lol I ought one in Virginia last year and won a small amount and was already in South Carolina by then lol

This is true. But believe me, if I were to win the big one, I am sure I could find my way quickly and easily back to where I got the ticket. lol
Luckily for me these are states I travel in often for work, so even the smaller amounts can still be collected eventually.

Good luck. I won $2 in the Classic Lotto; but my husband didn't buy me a Powerball ticket with the money - long story.

You can't win if you don't try. You could also win a smaller prize , though the odds they will turn out to be nothing. Good luck.
