Our internet has been playing up - and we've sold our house

We attended the Fairbridge Music Festival over the weekend but came home a day early as the weather became really bad because of two cyclones up north. Our friends were parked next to us and we tied the annexes together to make a little room for another friend. But the canvas flapped and snapped so much we thought we were going to lose the annexes on the caravans. So in the morning we packed up the annexes before going off to listen to the music, then spent the next night half-an-hour away at our friend’s place. Next morning we drove back to the venue in heavy rain and decided to hitch up the caravan and go home before it got any worse. When we got home, we had a lot of trouble getting the internet to work which is why I’ve been absent so long. I’ve probably missed some notifications too. In other news, today we signed papers selling our house. It is an unconditional cash offer which makes our next step much less complicated. Settlement will be on May 28th which is roughly six weeks away so we have lots to do before then. The photo is from a previous Fairbridge Festival.

Sorry the weather stopped you enjoying the end of the festival. That's great to have sold your house so quickly, now you can really get going with your move.

It's pretty incredible really that it sold so quickly. And we don't have to keep the place really tidy in case someone comes to view the house.

I did not know that you are selling a house. But I think you did a great deal on this matter.

Yes, it was a very quick sale so we were lucky in that respect. We are going to a lifestyle village for people over 55. Although it will be a huge change, we are hopeful that we'll enjoy it there.

Congratulations on selling your property. I hope everything goes through without any problems. I wasn't here the last few days, either. My eyes swelled closed. It's been so much fun just listening to YouTube and my phone reading to me. *sigh* I'm lying. I hate not being able to see.

@JudyEv Yes, some kind of allergy. We just aren't sure what I got into this time. Pollen or dust in the air.

@DianneN It's sorted for the moment. We ran out of data as they've changed our plan without consultation and we now get less. And you can't get hold of anyone to talk to about it.

@snowy22315 There are two bedrooms and a study so we're one bedroom down, no bar area and the lounge, kitchen, dining are all smaller. So it's a good chance to purge stuff which we're doing at the moment.

I can't quite believe how quickly the place sold. We had our info a bit wrong and we will be able to move into our new place the day on or after settlement of our place so, again, everything is falling into place nicely.

@JudyEv It is incredible how much we rely on the Internet and the new technology in our days. I think that here it is still mandatory to sign in front of a Notary who has to certify the signature.

Wow that's great that your house sold so fast. Good thing you started making some headway in getting rid of things. Do you have any idea where you're moving to or are you going to be house hunting? Too bad that the weather interfered with your festival but it was probably smart to pack up and leave early.

@JudyEv sounds like you're going somewhere with a lot of activity (which I think you both like). There really seems to be a lot of perks in that over 55 community. I think you'll enjoy the smaller place. Wishing you and Vince many years of happiness there.

We're moving to an over 55s lifestyle gated village which has a nice community centre - swimming pool, gym, theatre, pool table, library, community barbecues, etc. We'll still be doing our photos so we're hopeful we won't miss this place too much. It will still be a wrench.

@sallypup It started off folk but now it's a bit more of a mix with, usually, a lot of international acts too. But COVID meant that this year it was more local artists which was good too.
