What's attractive to one may not be to another

In the days before TV, the radio was a big deal. On Saturday mornings in Western Australia, there was a radio programme to do with renovations and do-it-yourself information. Suggestions for colour schemes were also a big part of the programme and I remember that a new shade, Burmese Gold, was being recommended left, right and centre as a feature colour.
I painted our bunk beds in Burmese Gold but my pleasure was totally spoilt when Vince said the colour looked more like baby-poop yellow.
As a matter of interest, my mother bought us the bunks when our two sons were ready for full-size beds. They could be set up as bunks or single beds. And just a week ago, we took them to the op shop as part of our decluttering. What good service they gave us.
I don’t have a photo of the beds but here is one of the two boys in a paddock of dandelions.

Just like what other people say, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. And you are right that people have different taste.
Your boys look so blissful there in the picture. Nostalgic memories

@rebelann The dandelions in the picture are quite different to the European variety. That's an incredible density of flowers! We don't usually see anything like that. Only one time when a field was harvested and then left because it was soon to be used for building.

That's quite true. What looks nice to me may not look good to someone else. I remember my first wife wanting everything painted "Country Blue". I like blue, but not that color of blue. Even she got tired of it pretty quick! (The last time my mom painted her bedroom, it was a purple so dark you had to hold some other color up beside it to see the purple in it. It was hideous!)
Are you sure you didn't kidnap those two little boys? They look really scared for some reason.

@JudyEv I asked her if she was sure she wanted all of them painted that dark at the time. She told me to mind my own business.

Cute picture of your boys surrounded by all those dandelions.
I remember having bunk beds for my girls when they were young. They were the perfect solution for kids having to share a room.

@JudyEv those bunk beds certainly came in handy for your boys. 50 years is a long time to have had them

@Marilynda1225 The springs eventually got a bit saggy so we made futon-type slatted bases for them.

@JudyEv Well, this is a pretty major life style change for y'all. It takes a lot of time, but I bet it will be very nice when you get all settled.

Our daughter wanted bunk beds when we lived in Ohio. we got them for her. My sister when we moved back to Indiana gave us her daughter's old bunkbed. my daughter gave hers to the Twins. We took the bunk bed apart and they had twin beds.
Love the saga!!!!
