Better With Age

I often hear people say, just read a comment, that aging feels bad and is hard. I don't feel this way. I feel better in my 50's than I did in my 30's. I know I am so much stronger, mentally and physically. A wise man, younger than me, said " life is what you make it." How do you feel about aging?

I feel the same. And life is about how we feel, not what our numbers are..

Mentally I feel just as young as I did in 1970; but physically I am feeling my age.

@andriaperry No need to be sorry. It happens to most of us at my age.

Amen, I like to poke fun at it. Just a number to me. I will say society likes to try to limit you by age, but think both you and I say screw that. I will punch society in the face.

I have no complains so far. Of course I am in good health and will keep going as long as I can.

I am a mixed bag in this area. I will take it as it comes, though. Many things are better as we age.

So far I can't say that I feel worse in my 40's than I did in my 30's, as I still have a lot of dreams to fulfill and goals to achieve, and the desire to reach those targets as energetic and enthusiastic as I was a decade ago. I am quite fine physically and mentally for the time being and I am confident that I will manage to keep this positive attitude for many years to come.

With the age comes the maturity. Yes I too believe that we grow old we become wise and take our decisions wisely and independently.

I'm fine with it. I figure at 71 I'm not on any meds so I consider myself lucky ..... don't kid yourself though, we don't get physically stronger with age, it's not supposed to work that way but we can remain healthy even when we get old.

Not sure what power lift is. Oh well, I'm not into lifting unless it's pet food or my dog.

I was thinking about this just last week. I remember feeling so very old on my 29th birthday, and in my 40's I felt like I was much happier, and now in my 50's I feel better again. Life is all that you make of it.

Some parts of aging I can do without (aches and pains) but on the whole age is just a matter of the mind.

over time we get smarter. We know how things work. The only thing bad about aging for me is when I injure myself, it takes FOREVER for it to heal!

I am far older than you are and aging has never bothered me since I have always been in great health. Arthritis in my hands is happening recently though and that is unacceptable.

My brain feels young. My body is going through the aging process. I have two replaced knees, hearing aids, cataract surgery on both eyes last year. I'm bringing the body back to good physical strength now that the knees are doing well for the first time in a long time.
