Pork Chops For Early Dinner

Has been a very long day. Got laundry done. And dinner is done early today.
Had a restless night with Brendel. Actually it started about 3:am. Her loud meowing from the other end of the house. I had to search for her. Since she can't hear, I have to search. I plan to buy a small bell for her collar so I can keep up with her.
She just seemed lost. Very sad. But when I finally found her, under the bed in another bedroom, she came to me. I sat in the recliner with her for about an hour. She went to sleep. Then the Dude had to come see what we were doing. Checking on his big sister.
Then she was up and the meowing started all over. I guess this is my new normal for now. Maybe things will get better. I sure hope so.
Decided on an early dinner and hopefully an early bedtime tonight. Baked a few pork chops, mashed potatoes, gravy and biscuits. Leftovers for tomorrow as I didn't eat much.

Thanks for asking about her. She has chronic kidney disease and has lost her hearing.
Just got back from the vet with Brendel. She has chronic kidney disease and has lost all hearing. How did I not know. I knew her hearing was less, but no idea...

It will be for a while. She's adjusting to a new normal, too. Does she seem to do better during the day?

Maybe she has to adjust to not hearing. Did I tell you the story about our little Inga? She lost her sight in a matter of a few days; and she was so depressed that she didn't want to come to us, get petted or anything. It was so sad. She hurt herself badly falling off the step one day; and we had to put her down. In a way I was glad for her because she was so miserable. I don't know why I told you this; but she never adjusted. I'm hoping Brendel settles down after a while. I just hope she's not in pain and that is why she's meowing.

You know it has to be a huge adjustment. That is why he said it is not uncommon for them to also get depression. Can you imagine? So sorry about Inga, I do not remember you telling me. The pain is the reason I took her, I had to be sure. She gets lost, that is the main reason for the meowing, and not able to hear as well. Like us, we talk louder if we start to lose our hearing. Thanks again for your support.

Your dinner sounds delicious I have not had pork chops in a long time, I hope Brendel will be all right, You know what I think that meowing was all about? She cannot hear so she does not know if you can hear her meowing or not so she keeps trying, I will keep her in my prayers as I do all children and animals,

Thank you. It was very good. I hope so too, it is such a constant strain. She went through a lot yesterday between the blood being drawn, tried 3 veins, since she is tiny, a rabies shot, and the IV fluids. Traumatic for her I am sure. She is sleeping now.

We spent many hours with Buttons through the night. She wouldn't jump up on anything so we would get close to her, on the floor and whatnot. She would snuggle with us. I would bake her a piece of fish and we had to hand feed her to get her to eat.
I hope with the next round of IV's and her getting the new food in her, you'll see a difference. Has she eaten the new food okay for you?
