It is a little early in the year for these high temperatures. In my memory we do not usually reach 100 until July 4 or later. This just makes me want a cold shower and to go to bed. I keep trying to nap, people, phone calls and cats keep waking me up.

It's 92F here and a brilliant, sunny day. I've had to water the plants twice, so far. When those in the pots on the front porch start wilting, it's time to douse them again. Pretty and I took our walk this morning and then I got involved in some discussions on myLot so didn't get to lie down until noon. I woke up an hour ago and have been bothering people here since then. I hope you get your nap, without more interruptions, soon.

It's 96 degrees here but feels like 101 with the humidity. Thank goodness for air conditioning.

It is 90 degrees here in Lake Charles. A thunderstorm should arrive this weekend to cool off the heat.

@GardenGerty The good news is that the storm will not touch Lake Charles since the storm is going east toward New Orleans.

Once in a while our temp reaches 100 degrees where we live. In Bay City, Mi. it happens often in July-Aug!

I am not familiar with that area. Hubby spent some of his growing up years in the UP and my first visit there, on a July 4 weekend, I had to go buy a flannel night gown.

I just pray you don't have a lot of humidity. June is our hottest month then it tapers down into the upper 90s for a while, sometimes for a long while.

Usually we get the most heat in August and September, I think.

I know the summer of 1980 we had 41 days in a row over 100 F. but I do not think it started in June.

@GardenGerty The hottest summer I remember since we moved here was Summer 2006. When we lived in Monte Carlo I remember that 1980 was so hot that my wax candles melted inside the cabinets.

I would find it very hard to sleep under those conditions.

We have air conditioning in all of our bedrooms but the spam calls are annoying.
