I just had a post in progress completely disappear. Has this ever happened to you?

I was five paragraphs into a post about my day, when it completely disappeared. Has this ever happened to you? It has cooled down from 107 F to 103 F here, so I'm going to order some sushi, buy a microphone, and then visit the pool. Enough said for now. I'm frustrated. But I'm hungry too.

This does happen with every one of us and left us to feel bad later on. Have a good day

When you're trying to respond to a discussion, and that happens, look at your mouse pointer. I bet you've left it on the word "Respond" or "Comment". If you bump your mouse or the mouse pad while the pointer is still touching those commands, you open a new comment box, deleting the first one.

@DaddyEvil Sigh. It's possible. On Epinions, we could "save" partial posts and get back to work on them later. I liked that feature.

In my box, I've explained to pony how/why that might have happened, if you're interested.

It happens. Several years back, it was happening quite frequently.

I've had that happen. I will read a super long post, or sometimes a short one, respond to it, and then find out it's gone.

It's happened a lot to me mostly because a finger gets too close to something that changes my page as I do mine in my phone. Now I try to write in Evernote a few notebook and c/p it here and have less lost.

I've never had that happen. Looks like DE has a solution. I'm afraid the heat and drought will be around for a while. Do you have drought in your area? Stay cool and hydrated!

That has never happened to me, although I have lost entire posts when trying to post them. Many times I now resort to writing the post offline and then just copying and pasting it when I am ready to "publish" it. I do this more often for more "in depth" posts.
I guess if I don't mind if I lose my lunch...err...well...my post about what I HAD for lunch.
What kind of microphone are you going to get? Ever thought of getting a DAW and audio interface to record at home?

It would happen to me when I post a discussion.... but I don't see that happening in an immediate future!
Completely agree with the "stale" feeling. Though I too started copying my post before submission.

I am not sure if this ever happened but I had this happen: I am typing a comment and all of a sudden it disappears and I am left with a blank text box.
I may not do it 100% of the time but before I press to publish the post I select the entire text and copy it. If the discussion doesn't post or takes too long to post and nothing happens, I can just start over and paste the text.
Sometimes I may post a discussion that is not fully done and then edit it and add more text.
