My sister just called me to let me know she was going by ambulance from her local hospital to a bigger one.
I have made all the phone calls to her daughter, and our brother. I let people know to be praying for her.
She has been having a problem with high blood pressure but a really low heart rate. Her friend was visiting her and when she was too dizzy to walk he took her to the Emergency Room.
So that is what I am up to today.

@rebelann I am not sure the antibiotics caused the problem as such, but I do know she has been complaining of not feeling well. I also wonder if the fact that she was sedated for a couple of procedures where they found the need for the antibiotics has anything to do with this. Of course we will likely never know.

Thank you very much. They have been "adjusting her meds" for quite some time but she really started having problems after having taken some really strong doses of two antibiotics. She has not felt good since.

She has been struggling ever since a recent treatment for an infection in her stomach lining that was discovered when they did an endoscopy. She took high doses of two antibiotics for a week and has not felt well since.

@BarBaraPrz The stomach infection cleared up. I have not been going to her appointments, but from what I understand, based on what she says, it is the same bacteria that often causes ulcers. After she took her antibiotics they did a breath test that showed she was now clear of those organisms. she did not have an ulcer.

@GardenGerty Yeah, sometiimes the cure is worse than the disease.
Did her stomach infection clear up anyway?

Yes, her senior apartment has given her a place to make friends and they all look out for each other. I am glad her friends were there. Also glad her daughter is checking in.

Oh so sorry, just said a quick prayer for your sister. I am sure she will get the help she needs. I was kind of dismayed the other day when my BP was on the high side and my heart rate was on the low side..Of course I do excercise some..but am hardly an athlete..

If you have a consistent problem with that I would see if you need a heart doctor. Exercise does change this, but she has never been one to exercise, and she has smoked for about sixty years.

Yes, it is a problem in more ways than one. I think they cardiac team and the hospital will get her some solid help.

I think she will be okay. She has had a problem of slow heartbeats lately and no one has pushed for a solution. Her heart doctor probably should have been called a month ago.I did not think of it, but then neither did her primary care.

I live about an hour from her. The hospital where she is is about an hour and a half.

Is the hospital there not full?
In my place, almost all health installations are crowded with patients, I hope to find one that is empty so that we can more freely check our health

We have gotten past the worst of our pandemic and the hospitals are not full. We can see our regular doctors in person if we need to. I think my sister is getting good help and will have a plan to be in better health.
