Banana Cake

Was what I have made for killing the time last Friday at work. There was not much to do while at work that I was looking something to kill the time.
No laundry for the washing machine and for the drier and only a few things to do for the old ladies home besides preparing meals. Luckily, I saw 3 over ripe bananas for me to bake a cake. I was lucky enough to find all the ingredients that I needed. It was still early for me to cook for her lunch so I was glad to bake a banana cake that she hadn’t tried yet in her life. When the 2 professional nurse/caregivers came, I was done with baking. They were able to eat a few slices of the cake and they liked it. I was happy that time passed eventually for me.
I think the old lady and her son were happy and contented to have me. I am the same. There’s no need for me to tell me what to do as I can’t just sit having a conversation and watching tv with the lady at work.
I am on the Autobahn with hubby driving to Rotterdam when writing this post. We are spending our weekend with my sister and nieces with their respective families. This will be a fun time bonding together again. We have not seen for almost a year.
I will be here on and off this weekend. I am not done yet with my notifications. I have a lot of catching up to do with you. Thank you for reading. Have a wonderful weekend!

You were in my mind these past three days because of the deluge that happened in your adoptive country. The news are devastating.
Glad to know that you are all right. That banana cake sounds filling enough for those who really need it this time. I saw young people on food brigade distributing breakfast in an affected area. A young man had to go up the garage roof to deliver food to a family trapped inside the home.
Perhaps you and your relatives can pack essentials for the victims. It's the Filipino way of bonding.

@thelme55 Yes. Am doing the same now. The floods are massive! The rain has not stopped for four days. Tossing blankets and towels also to the donation bin.

Yes, it was a devastating news @eileenleyva. We were not at home the whole weekend as we were in the Netherlands visiting my relatives there. So, I have not watched the news. Thankfully, it happened very far from us but still it is a terrible nature calamity.
We are helping as much as we could. Thank you.

@eileenleyva That is a good suggestion. We have many containers here in our city where we can drop old clothes and shoes. So we don’t need to wait for a calamity tobe able to help. Those clothes are used in time of crises like flood. I drop my good clothes which are no longer of use in the container nearby our place.

I see. I am glad we are not living where it mostly flooded. Thanks God.
I was not here on the weekend and so I have not heard a lot about the sad news of flooding in some of the areas in Germany.
Thanks for thinking about me @RebeccasFarm. I was in the Netherlands for the whole weekend.

Nice to hear you can finally get together again. I haven't met my parents and siblings for months, can't wait for the day we'll get to see each other again. That's a delicious looking cake, by the way!

@thelme55 Thanks, we do video calls often. But of course, nothing like having their physical presence

Your banana cake was well received. I remember my Granddad's banana pudding was a big hit with us as kids. Of course, what made it special was the vanilla wafers as part of the recipe.
Enjoy your bonding!
