I was followed

So, following me all the way back home from Dollar General where I went to pick up a few supplies was a police car. Yikes! One thing I hate is having the police follow me. Even when I am not doing anything wrong, I really don't like it. It is a good thing the car got inspected, or I would have been sweating bullets. They hardly ever even come out here. I only see them maybe 3 or 4 times a year, unless you call them out for something. Do you hate being followed by the police?

Well it doesn't happen in our country...our cops are too lazy to follow someone unless and until if they receive a tip off some illegal activities. So you mean did they follow you for a long time or just asked you to pull over

They followed me for about 3.5 miles until I turned off the main road to come into my development. We were the only cars on the highway!!

I do. Even if I'm within the law. There was a time I'd pass a cop if they were under the posted speed. Not anymore.

I was nervous as a cat the whole time. Normally I would probably go 65 on that stretch of highway, but since the speed limit is officially 55 that is what I did, and slowed down for the curves and what not. I noticed..Mr. Cop was going the speed limit.

@snowy22315 I hate that. I follow all the rules and have all the paperwork but just seeing a black and white gets me nervous.

Yes I hate when the police wind up behind me I automatically drive slower than the speed limit. They probably are cursing me and saying "move it lady"

HAHA, I don't go slower than the speed limit..that just drags it out. Usually if I am being followed I will turn off on some road, not my own just to get rid of the "tail."

I would have been worried too. It's funny when really you shouldn't have anything to worry about but they still scare me.

@JudyEv With the distance I drive out would never get anywhere if you did the limit..although I try not to be too much over That could get you a reckless driving which is much worse!

Especially if it goes on for miles. I had one do that and followed me for miles and pulled me over just shy of the county line...it was like a burnt out bulb or something..I really wanted to be stopped 30 minutes after dark for that!

I remember years ago, going to the soda machine in my apartment complex around 4am for a Coke. I was putting my money in when a huge beam of light blinded me. It was a police car with those spotlights they have. I'm sure they were just checking to see if I was up to no good, but it annoyed the heck out of me. I had a migraine so it didn't help that either.

If I think we're being followed, my husband will pull over just in case. We want to be on a cop's good side, not their bad side.

I wouldn't pull over. They might think I had a guilty conscience or something or needed assistance. Besides I don't have my new insurance cards yet.

@snowy22315 I was stopped once because the sticker from my inspection was gone. But when the cop walked to the front of my car he saw the sticker was on the front plate. He wrote it down and stuck a sticker on for me. I didn't get a ticket, though.

Yes I do dislike being followed by the police since I am fearful of breaking any traffic laws like not stopping at traffic lights or stop signs.

When I first moved out here from the city, a car followed me for miles and really freaked me out, because you don't have that in the city, but then I realized there aren't a lot of roads to get from point A to point B out here so they were just traveling it as I was.

I get nervous if they follow us, it is very common to see police cars in our area, as we live near the border.

I always get nervous even though I'm doing nothing wrong. One officer followed me for over a mile through my parents' retirement community. He was probably running my plates. Eventually he put his lights on, I pulled over, and he went past me. . . and turned off the lights.
