A few books to read

United States

It came to my attention a few weeks ago that Kindle Unlimited was allowing more than the 10 book limit to be borrowed. Last night I sifted through the kindle store and found a few books to borrow. I have been in the mood for some thrillers but until yesterday, had not actively searched for any. These are the titles I have borrowed: The Moonlight Child by Karen McQuestion Voices In The Snow by Darcy Coates and The Girls In The Attic by Marius Gabriel Tell me, which of these titles sound the most appealing to you?

It's a historical one, sounds like it will be riveting.

I added The Moonlight Child to my to-read list on Goodreads some months ago. I didn't read it yet. I don't know the others, but The Girls In The Attic sounds interesting.

@ScribbledAdNauseum So far I haven't been able to find a copy of The Moonlight Child. I thought that the description on Goodreads sounded interesting, but Mofibo doesn't have the book. They have lots of ebooks and audiobooks, but there is nothing by this author, at least not yet. The local library might have it.

@Porcospino Oh, I had not thought about this. I believe it is exclusive to Amazon at the moment. I can borrow it from Kindle Unlimited, a book subscription service. When a book is on KU, it is not allowed to be put "wide" (a term used by authors to mean marketed on and for various other publishers)

I feel like I have heard about The Moonlight Child before which is why I added it. The Girls In The Attic drew me to it as well.

I would have to know about them to pick but off the top of my head I would say Voices in The Snow

That one is an amnesia type thriller. Woman wakes up in stranger's home and stranger claims to have saved her. Weird stuff starts happening.

@LadyDuck I understand. I was uncertain whether I would read it myself, but I borrowed it and will try to read it.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I checked, it is about WWII, Gestapo, Germany, Jewish girls, not something I want to read, I have enough to read about WWII, I want to forget.

I'd have to see what the books were about before I could say if I was interested in them or not... And I'd go to the free site and download them instead of borrowing them from Kindle. *shrug* I don't like giving books back, in case I like them enough to read them again later.

I don't blame you there. I have a list of books I want to buy on kindle because I've gotten rid of the physical copy.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Just go to b-ok.cc and download the .mobi copy for free... If there isn't a .mobi copy, download the .epub copy and use a book converter to change it to .mobi. (I have a converter, too, if you need it.)

Not being a big reader, not sure which really sounds the most appealing. Voices in the snow does kind of speak to me.

It's an amnesia type story. I haven't read it yet but it looks like it will be thrilling.

@MommyOfEli2013 Yeah, I haven't had many hits on the books I've written. I am not the proudest of them though, and I've decided to write only for myself.

@ScribbledAdNauseum That does sound interesting, for sure. I wrote a short story that had to do with amnesia....it's even in the book I self published lol. Not that anyone bought it

Without knowing the plots and just going by the title I'd pick Voices In The Snow. Hope you enjoy your books and let us know how they are.

It's more of a historical book, but I found it after searching "thriller", so I guess it has some elements of thrill.

I've never heard of any of those book titles Another book that interests me the most is life of pi by Yann Martell, it really stirs my soul especially words = "I'm afraid my heart will sink to the bottom of the deepest Pacific Ocean, and I won't be able to pick it up again."

Oh! That is a very poweful line. I have a notebook where I post lines from books that I really love. I don't have it with me to give examples.
