The Tom Quilty Cup is being held this weekend

In an hour or two we’ll pack the last of the things we’ll need at the endurance ride we’re attending in Collie, Western Australia. Once we’ve added all the frozen and cold stuff, we’ll be on our way to pick up the caravan. On the way, we’re going to buy some waterproof long pants as they say it’s going to rain over the weekend. The Tom Quilty Gold Cup is a national event, although there are very few competitors from our eastern states – just five from South Australia. Our border is closed to the other states. There is only one junior entered. The photo shows her at one of her first endurance rides in 2018. She successfully completed her first 160 km ride the following year. She is still only 14. We wouldn’t normally take photos in the rain but seeing it’s such a prestigious event we thought I might be able to hold an umbrella over Vince while he operates the camera. If the rain is too heavy, this won’t work but if it’s just a light sprinkle it should be okay.
