I've been telling people here that I was 116 so I thought I should up that now. Go ahead! I'm ready for it!

@crossbones27 I'm glad somebody noticed! A couple of years before my mom passed away I found a tee shirt in Walmart that showed an old violin on it and had "The older the violin, the sweeter the music." and gave that to her for her birthday. She wore it all over the place and loved people commenting on it.

Hey, thanks for the offer but my old kitties would freak if someone tried to wear em out and I'm betting Roscoe would wear her out, he's definitely wearing me out.

@rebelann She'd be gentle with your kitties. But she's worn out friend's furbabies before. (One friend warned her not to pet her pup because he didn't like anyone touching him. She sat on the floor talking with him. Pretty soon he was curled up on her lap, happy as can be. My friend was shocked!)

We're still making nachos for everyone that shows up. You know you're welcome, any time. (I'll even put on my "bubble boy" suit so you can bring the furbabies. She'll wear them out for you.)

Not the same name but close. I'm RubyMoonchild53 on Noise. LoL on your Mom saying you should have reminded her. I won't forget. I gave birth to her!!

Did you use the same name on Noise? (I kept thinking I recognized the name but couldn't figure out why...) Oh, that's cool! Just don't forget her birthday. My mom forgot mine several times. (She'd get mad at me for not reminding her. I never felt it was my job to remind her. She had me, surely she could remember it.)

@bluerubymoon53 @DaddyEvil Some years ago I came across my mother's diary for the year I was born. I was a bit disappointed that my birth day was blank - not even 'Fleura born' or anything like that. Although I have to admit that everything after that date was blank too. I guess she was just too busy and/or tired to write anything!

Yes, today is my birthday but we aren't supposed to put up celebratory posts, so I'm not telling people why we're celebrating in the discussion starter. You're the second person to mention why we might be celebrating. And I've been telling people I'm 116 for a year, so I had to make it 117 today. Would you like to come over and get cake or should I bring it with me when I visit and sleep in your yard?

I'm sorry. I don't eat chocolate cake. One of my older brothers made sure I wouldn't eat it again. *shrug*

@DaddyEvil I am very careful, I do not want to gain weight. My husband has lost a lot of weight, I give him a larger slice and I eat a very small one. This is a no bake orange cheesecake that I made last week.

@LadyDuck I understand. That looks interesting but I wouldn't try it. I've never liked cheesecake. Pretty buys herself some once a year or so because she likes it.

Thank you very much. Pretty and I don't eat cake often. We've gained weight lately and would rather not gain more.

We already have ice cream cones in the freezer. Your welcome to both. (Cones are waffle cones with vanilla ice cream with chocolate and nuts on top.)

Thank you. We didn't have the ingredients to make a cake and we don't want a full cake sitting on the kitchen counter. We'd eat it and don't need the calories. Does yours taste like a fruit cake you get at Christmas?

@RubyHawk Oh, okay. That might taste okay to me. I can't stand those Christmas fruitcakes. They're nasty! A couple of years ago I made some 30 day cakes. Pretty and I really liked those!

@DaddyEvil No, not really It has cinnamon flavor. I put cinnamon with the fruit cocktail.

@DocAndersen I waited until the mud dried and swept them down. Pretty had to vacuum the mud from the carpet so you should probably ask her if you're allowed inside again. (If she makes you sit on the porch, there are nice glider rocking chairs there. )

I'm fine, thank you. I fell asleep when we got home from visiting all the doctors yesterday. (Pretty got her flu shot so has been throwing up and running a fever. I had to change out the trash bags... *sigh*)

@Vree0937 Yes, I was exhausted. We had to drive to two doctors 65 km from our house. I hate driving in big city traffic. The third doctor is only 4 km from our house. She gets the flu shot every year. I don't.

@DaddyEvil I figure it out, must be so tired and sleep as lack of sleep night before. Hope she's all right now. Covid vaccine and flus hot is a good combination to combat this virus - I heard

@FayeHazel Thanks! Pretty has several of the pre-mixed cake-in-a-cup boxes in the cupboard. I didn't care for them.

@DaddyEvil Ok fair enough, looking good for 117. lol Mine didn't look as good.... I did the mug cake, mix 1 angel food cake, and 1 any other cake mix together, dry. Take 3 T of the cake mix, 2 T of water in a greased coffee cup for 1 minute in the microwave ... and tada

I know about Diwali. vanny and other Indian friends have told me about it. I hope you're enjoying the festivals.

@oahuwriter That's no problem. People on myLot forget she's my daughter and not my wife or girlfriend all the time. I'm used to it by now. I understand. I'm not supposed to eat much sweets, either.

In less than a month, I'll be 118 years old.
