Mylotting from airport...a post on my trip.

Good morning from this side of the planet.
. It's 7:30 AM here and I am relaxing and enjoying my breakfast in the domestic airport lounge. My flight is in another 90 minutes and I can relax a bit and mylot.
Good that I found this time to make a post about my trip.. Else it would have not happened like the other posts that I plan to make here
. Like the one trip that I made in April but could not write about though I planned to .
My last trip was for ten days in April. And I made that trip to two different cities attending two wedding functions, one of my niece and other of my cousin brother. One trip involved an air trip and the other one was a long road trip. It was fun with the huge family traveling together .
I made the April trip with my younger daughter as she was free after her exams. My husband and elder daughter could not join us as elder one had all exams lined up and husband stayed back to be her driver.
Now, this current trip was not planned but just happened. My elder daughter got selected through the first round of selection to one prestigious colleges. The second round of exams is on this weekend. And though we opted for Bangalore as our first option for exam centre, we could not get it. Now they gave us the second option of capital city Delhi. And that's why I am traveling with her today. Wanted to keep a day for her to be well rested before exam and not have any hassles.
Younger daughter and husband stay back as their physical classes and office are there.
And Delhi is my city
. A city where I grew up and spent all my childhood and youth days. So, I am looking forward to meeting my mom, brother and few relatives .
But then I am not happy about the mercury rising there. I have to go from a wonderful gorgeous weather to hot one.
. Hopefully I take a bit of this gorgeous weather for Delhi too.
I have taken leave till Monday when I come back. Anyway I am carrying some work that can be done from there.
I didn't get a real vacation since the pandemic. But at least I got few of these getaways to meet friends and family.. I might have some more in July and August to visit the campuses, get her admitted and to see her off in the hostel life . One little chick is grown up to leave my nest.
Might get busy with offline fun with friends and family. Will try to mylot whenever I can.

Thank you for your wishes. I am taking all precautions to save myself from heat and heat wave there..I have not been to Delhi in summer in the last 22 years. Hope all goes well.

Thanks Anna. Though I met mom in April also at the wedding, I am always excited to be with her. I am enjoying my time here and the mercury has also dropped a bit since I came here yesterday.. Though it's still hot but bearable.

Today in the morning the weather seems to be fine here in Delhi. Let's see what happens when the sun rises.
Which exam is your daughter sitting in?
Still, you may be happy to see your parents and siblings even when you know that the weather in Delhi is not better than in Bangalore.

I hope the weather continues to be fine. It was hot in April too. But when I went there, those ten days were not bad. My aunt said that I brought the Bangalore weather with me.. Hope it's the same this time. Even Delhi people would like that
My daughter is writing the second round of NID. It's actually situation and studio test. She is already through DTU( earlier DCE) and IIT Guwahati ( there she is on wait list) .Also one good private college with sixty percent scholarship because of her good rank in UCEED, conducted by IIT. But her dream college is NID.
She got through one design college in Singapore and UK too. But we don't want to leave the country for another few years. She is just 18.
I am always excited to go to Delhi
But going there in summer after long 22 years. I never went there from May to October in the last 22 years.

@arunima25 what was the rank she got in JOSAA? My nephew got a 24k rank a few years back but still couldn't get software engineering in a good college in Delhi itself.

@sjvg1976 She didn't write that exam. She is looking for B.Des in Gaming and Animation,. She got all india rank 185 in UCEED and the 162 here in NID. She gotAIR 300 in NIFT but she is not interested in Fashion. She wants full fledged technology and programing.
IIT conducts UCEED for B.des
My husband did BTech CSE from IIT Roorkee and brother did the same from IIT Delhi. Your AIR has to be within 500 for general category to get in the top branches in these IITs.

I will be careful with the heat wave. Though I grew up in Delhi, I have not gone there in summer in the last 22 years since my marriage. It has gone worse in these years. And I don't have tolerance for heat any more.

@nela13 Yes, it stayed good. Now I am at airport. Will board the flight in an hour. Seems like the mercury might rise again. But at least the weather was well behaved till I stayed here

The journey was smooth. I am happy to bring some relief for Delhi people. The mercury has dropped a bit. . It's hot compared to Bangalore but not so bad.

It's been a good trip. Had good time with friends and family. And the rain and clouds followed me from Bangalore to Delhi. People from Delhi are happy to get my gift. It's my last day here. I return back tomorrow morning.

@oahuwriter For Indian states where you get extreme temperatures, May and June are peak summer time. Monsoon comes by July.
I guess one is never fully prepared for empty nest unless it actually happens. We just accept it and move on.

Maybe next time. Delhi is full of friends and family. I hardly get to meet them all on short trip. Today my aunt has invited us for a family get together for dinner. So, I am looking forward to see few of them.

You are right Judy. It's another big milestone in her life. I am a proud mom but also one worried about my nest being empty soon. Well, one has to keep moving from one phase of life to another.

Yes, life takes turns that we have to be prepared for.
As for myself, I like to stay in comfort zones but once out of them, enjoy the turns too.
